ABUS 148 Soft Shackle Combi Padlock - TSA Approved Reviews

I don’t normally write reviews but this purchase has been problematic. One of the locks works perfectly, the other started to be difficult to unlock, sometimes impossible then OK until it eventually failed to lock completely. As we are on holiday in Peru we threw it away. So a 50/50 review.

The Abus lock is small enough to use on luggage and the wire clasp makes it easy to fit. Setting the combination code was a bit fiddly and would have benefitted from having clearer instructions. The Abus website did not offer any help. When set up it is easy to lock and unlock.

I bought this lock to secure a rear pillion seat bag on a motorbike which although unusual, is no different to a normal suitcase zip which this is originally intended for. Its aim is simply to stop the opportunist thief from easily opening the bag and accessing my gear-it is easy to use,works well and wont ever stop a determined person but means you can leave your bike with some degree of safety and peace of mind
