Expensive, but worth it all day long for outside use. I had tried two big brands before but they both seized or rusted - even though they were supposedly ‘weather proof’. A month + on and these are still working smoothly, with no signs of wear or stiffness. Handy to have two locks that use the same key too. Weighty, strong, weatherproof and a clear deterrent. I will only be using ABUS locks from now on!

The quality of the locks look very good and to have both locks being operated by the same key stops a lot of messing around in the dark finding the right key. The operation is very smooth and there is no tendancy to bind up as the key is turned.The main reason for buying these locks is to get something which will stand up to a sea air without corrosion. The spec indicates that they will and

at a reasonable cost, time will tell and looking at the quality I am sure they have a long life securing my beach hut. Two previous makes of lock have failed within a year and at a higher cost than the Abus locks.
