Have used Asec locks before and they last a very long time. I had to replace the one in a back door which was very straight forward.

Good quality locks.

I chose this sashlock because of its small case size. It was a replacement for an old Yale lock which I think was the original 2.5" size. Most locks sold these days as 2.5" are actually some Euro standard and the case is half a centimetre deeper than the old British size. I didn't want to get involved with deepening the mortice in the door and hoped that this lock would be a drop-in replacement. In the event I didn't get away without any woodwork at all because the forend was a tad thicker than the Yale but this was easy work.

As a new homeowner and complete DIY novice, these were easy enough to install.

My old locks would stick and jam, but these new ones have been very smooth to operate. Having them keyed alike makes life a lot easier too.

I can’t comment on security as no one’s tried to boot my door in yet, but they seem to meet the standards the internet tells me I need.
