Pros: Finally a key safe that staff keep shut.
You don't have to have a key for every member of staff.
You can easily change the pass key if member of staff leaves.
There is an overide key should the electronics or batteries fail (just make sure you don't keep them inside the safe!)
Cons: Door only opens 90 degrees on a right hand hinge, so position of the key safe is important i.e. don't put it in a left hand corner if you hope to see the keys on the back of the door.
After a couple of weeks of use, the handle fell off, turned out the spindle bolts had worked lose, so the lock internals had fell inside the door. But after taking the door casing off, it was easy enough to repair and has been fine since.
i've had a few burton Safe's without out an issue, so i'm sure this was a one off build flaw.
This key cabinet has worked out very well for us. Our Church needed a more secure cabinet for our keys. Our Church is over 8oo yrs old so a lot of the keys are very large and heavy. The cabinet was really good for storing them as you do not need to put all the racks in. The security is really good as well. I like the fact that the Churchwarden and deputy each have an emergency key if someone has forgotten the code. everyone on the PCC are very happy with this new key cabinet, and the fact that it was at such a great price. We feel we have got the best quality at the best price, so thank you very much.
