Really excellent product. The secret to setting up the system is to spent a day or two reading & re-reading the manual. At first it seems mind boggling but if you read & digest the instructions it eventually becomes very clear what to do and results in a very easy set up. I completed everything in about 3 hrs. & that includes the outside alarm installation. I did need to consult the company a couple of times just to cover some issues my brain could not absorb ( these were mainly to do with possible situations & how to resolve them if they happened). The guys I spoke to were so helpful & understanding in covering these issues.

You do need a PAYG sim to do the set up properly, but it again makes it so simple to change any settings you feel needs changing, ie delayed alarm response, activating code change etc. Just buy one at the local shop & put £10 on it. Download the ERA app & off you go. Once set up you can remove the sim if you wish, but if you think you might need to change anything in the future just leave it in situ. It takes seconds to alter any settings via the app.

I would not hesitate in recommending this system.

Simple to set up, flexible in terms of mixing and matching items to suit the specific requirements.

Sourcing s SIM card wasn’t that intuitive, but I hit there without too much fuss.

Mobile App very useful for remote arming and disarming. SMS alerts helpful.

Was looking fur a long time before I found this. Am pleased and relieved.

The product is good, so far we have been very satisfied,

It looks well presented and is easy to use.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this product to any other person who is intending to fit a house security system.

It is competitively priced for a security system of this type.

The ERA miGuard G5 Smart GSM telecoms Alarm is the second similar alarm system that has been fitted by a member of our family,

they have had their system fitted for over four years and have been very satisfied with the way that it has performed,

That was what persuaded us to select this alarm system in the first place.

Excellent product, with a sleek, modern appearance. I do love the glass covering the entire panel and the keypad.

The installation is definitely easy if you know what you are doing.

Using SMS to control the system is awkward, but the app does a nice job of translating what you want to do into the right SMS.

The only drawback is you need a SIM card (full size) - which means that every now and then you have to put some credit in it, depending on how many messages the alarm sends.

The alarm system was easy to install. Just a few screws (included) for each unit. No wiring required. Then easy so setup using both the mobile phone app and the alarm keypad. Using the app requires a phone SIM card in the alarm which you’ll need to get separately, and it will take about 50 texts to set it up. I got an O2 3-2-1 pay-as-you-go SIM which was the cheapest deal I could find; you’ll need to register the SIM using an old phone first though as the alarm uses a full sized SIM card.

My top tips are:

- When you install the door contact sensors, make sure you screw them down as well as using the supplied double-sided adhesive pads. Otherwise they will slowly come off and the tamper alarm will be set off.

- The door contact sensor supplied with the alarm is not as good quality as the add-on ones you can buy separately. I found that the tamper switch wasn’t quite long enough on the one in the box and so would occasionally set off the tamper alarm. A piece of sellotape between the sensor and it’s mounting plate fixed this. The design of the add-on ones is better so doesn’t require this fudge!

- A couple of the batteries supplied were faulty and so it’s worth changing the batteries if it doesn’t appear to be working as expected.

-I bought a dummy box too as I thought it was solar powered too (which it wasn’t) and would be a good visual deterrent for the back of the house. Unfortunately the flashing lights in the dummy box are so dim that they can’t be seen at night and so it wasn’t really an effective deterrent.

-The outside alarm sounder comes with two batteries; one rechargeable and one PP3 non-rechargeable. You need to connect the PP3 battery 24 hours before you want to install the box as the PP3 charges up the rechargeable battery. THEN the PP3 needs to be removed BEFORE installing the sounder (it says so in the instructions although it isn’t very obvious). I suspect that if you don’t remove it you may have problems later.

-Once my alarm was installed I ran it for 2 weeks with both the external and internal sounders silenced to check that it wasn’t going off due to installation problems. After I was happy I turned both sounders on. At the same time as I turned the external sounder on I also turned on the jamming detection, both of which you need to do in the external sounder box.

All in all I’m happy with the alarm. A few teething problems with the tamper switches, but all appear to be solved now. I really like the app control and the fact that the alarm messages me when it is set off. I then have the ability to turn it off from the app if I don’t want to annoy the neighbours, and then ring one of them up to check on the house! I also like that I can buy more sensors to add into the system if I decide I need them, and that these are pretty cheap and easy to install.

It's easy to set up. It's reliable. It's better than the YALE alarms that are wifi connected. It's excellent value.

I recommend this alarm.

I purchased this ERA alarm system approx. 3 months ago, so I have had ample time to evaluate it. Having had bad experiences with other systems on the past, I was obviously a little sceptical. I had nothing to worry about with the ERA system.

The installation was very straight forward with very easy to follow instructions, ( although I did trigger it accidentally once or twice, purely my fault I hasten to add ). The external solar powered siren certainly looks the business and is loud enough to alert my neighbours. The remote operation via my smartphone is really easy to configure. Most importantly, my wife can now relax knowing that she has this level of security at her fingertips. I would certainly recommend this product. Thank you ERA.

A bit fiddly and stressfull to set up , my First control panel was faulty but replaced next day and support is very good. I think an option to have all extra bits connected before shipping would not only prevent it being stress to setup , but also save the help line as fewer problems. Only time will tell now as to how long the unit will last, saying that it all seems to be fairly robust and looks very professional unlike some of the other units you see for sale online and in the big DIY stores . Online app is very basic but a Good starting point for using phone to set etc.
