Yale PBS2 - 40mm Auto Deadlocking Night Latch (40mm, Brass) Reviews

The lock is solidly built as you would expect from a kite-marked security product but also smart looking. It is easy to use and does exactly what it is supposed to do.

This is a great Auto Deadlocking night latch.

Its a solid great looking bit of kit.

It has an anti drill feature.

It comes with all the fixings required and templates for marking, drilling and chiselling the door and frame.

Product is an excellent replacement for a 12 year old lock that failed during lockdown. Fast delivery too. Wouldn't hesitate to use/recommend you for future use.

Most importantly satisfied insurance who are very picky

Good sturdy double deadock. A bit fiddly for me to fit but maybe it was because I was replacing a different lock inthe same place. However, I needn't have chiselled out part of the door jam, do had to re-pack that to make it fit. Overall good value and prompt delivery.

Ordered the Yale PSB2 – Auto Deadlocking Night Latch (40mm, Polished Brass).

The lock arrived promptly.

When I came around to fitting the lock, the mechanism was slightly sticking.

I contacted Safe and without any hesitation, they sent out another latch with next day delivery.

I didn’t even have to go through the hassle of posting back the first latch; it was a direct swap with the courier.

Strangely enough the second lock was again slightly sticking. I applied a little WD40 silicon lubricant and it is now absolutely perfect.

The lock is quite substantial and gives a feeling of security.

Many friends have commented on how good the lock looks.

It was fitted to a door dating back to 1908, so I was worried that it would take away from the charm. I needn’t have worried it looks fantastic.

Very good, excellent price, promt delivery, I do find the key does not slide into the lock smoothly even when applying WD40, it seems to grate, & needs to be wriggled into the lock, after 3 or 4 months I would have expected a Yale lock to wear in by now & the key to slide in more smoothly.

Just what I wanted. Arrived as advertised. Easy to install.

It’s a very solid lock fitting and looks very good on my front door.

I bought this lock to replace an identical lock of the same make and model, that I fitted some years ago, whose internal opening mechanism failed.

Whilst it fitted almost perfectly, the build of it is not as solid as the original. For example, the original lock turn handle is solid metal, whilst this new one is hollow behind the handle. It looks the same but it seems that the lock has been manufactured to save materials and therefore cost. It is also lighter than the original lock. Hence only four stars for build quality. Otherwise it is a good lock and works very well.

The quality has dropped in the newly made locks, the built quality in the older version was much better! Will definitely buy a different brand in the future.

This is a replacement for a near identical lock I fitted 30yrs ago. The lock more or less fits as a direct replacement. The striker plate has only 4 screws instead of five with the old one. The old lock was made in the uk. I won’t be around to write another review in 30yrs!!
