This is a very well made safe but I was concerned that my Laptop might not fit as the dimensions of the opening were quite marginal. Safe.co.uk were very helpful in providing all the details I requested but the margins were so tight that in the end I had to make the purchase and hope that the laptop would fit. I am delighted that my laptop fits and the top opening of the safe is exactly what I need for the planned location.

Delivery was excellent and the safe arrived earlier than I expected. Altogether a quite excellent purchase - I am very pleased.

The Burton Pop Up Top Loading Safe is ideal for use at home or in a hotel because of the guest programmable pin code feature. The safe is operated by a battery powered electronic combination keypad and is secured by 20mm motorised locking bolts. The door of the safe opens upwards and is held open by a compression gas strut, ideal for one handed access and includes a foam lined base to protect valuable items. This Burton Top Loading safe comes with a recommended insurance rating of £1,000 cash or £10,000 valuables and is designed for fixing to the floor with fixing bolts included.

This safe features two gas struts that supports the door to stay open, making access to the safe contents easy and convenient. the inside of the safe also includes a carpet lined base to help protect delicate items, such as jewellery. Because of the large internal side and wide door opening, this safe is also suitable to store a standard size laptop.

Motorised Locking Bolts

The safe features two large locking bolts that automatically open up on entry of the correct PIN code via the electronic keypad. The motorised locking bolts will also lock the safe automatically when you programme the safe to lock.

Electronic Keypad Locking

The safe is secured by an electronic combination keypad with illuminated buttons to help you to enter the code in the dark. The keypad is programmed with a guest programmable PIN feature that requires you to enter a code to lock the safe. The safe can then be opened via entry of the same code you used to lock it. It's possible to set a master code and there is also a back-up key in case of emergency.

Could this be wallmounted? I only have a shallow recess behind a door so need something slimline against the wall. This would fit fine as a wall mounted safe.

Standard Safe <25kg Installation

We offer professional installation on our complete range of lightweight safes under 25kgs.

Our experienced engineer will complete a brief site inspection and then discuss their findings with you to agree positioning of your safe.

Your installation will include bolting the safe to the floor or wall using the anchor bolts included with your safe. Anchor bolts are designed for use with a solid surface such as brick or concrete. We cannot install your safe to floorboards or a stud plasterboard wall.

If you are choosing a wall installation you must ensure the skirting board has been removed prior to installation.

The position of your safe will be governed by safe site access, and other obstructions such as submerged pipes/cables or under floor heating.

The engineer will carry out a final assessment to ensure the safe is secure before providing a brief demonstration of your safe and confirming the installation has been completed to your satisfaction.

Additional Information

Non-standard Installation

In some cases, it may be necessary to install additional materials or provide extra resources (manpower) to facilitate an installation in a safe manner.

If additional costs are likely these will be discussed with you prior to installation. Reasons for extra costs might include:

  • Specialised access equipment and permits such as hoists, lifts and cranes.
  • Outside of normal hours working (Mon-Fri, 9am to 5pm).
  • 4x4 Vehicular access requirements to remote rural sites.
  • Road closure including necessary permits.
  • Additional manpower to overcome technical, lifting or safety access issues.

We offer installation throughout the UK mainland, however some more remote and rural post codes in the Highlands are subject to a surcharge to cover additional fuel and traveling time costs.

The following areas will incur a rural travel surcharge:

  • PH 1 - 26 (No coverage in other PH postcodes)
  • PA 1 - 19 (No coverage in other PA postcodes)

These additional elements are deemed to fall outside the definition of a 'Standard Installation'. If you feel your installation might be non-standard please contact us to discuss your individual requirements.

If applicable, additional costs are to be paid before installation begins.

Warranty Terms & Conditions

Our installer provides a standard 12 month warranty on all new installations and a 3 month warranty on all materials provided during maintenance visits.

Note: Existing system components and pre-supplied equipment are not included in the installation warranty as these elements are covered by the Manufacturer warranty.

We reserve the right to undertake an ‘Assessment Call’ without prejudice to investigate any complaints relating to materials failure or poor workmanship to assess if the complaint is valid. Please note that remedial service calls generated by elements outside of our sphere of influence or due to different fault conditions will be chargeable to you at an agreed call out charge.

In scenarios where you request a post installation service call and our assessment identifies the fault condition or cause of the fault falls outside of the limitations of the standard installation warranty (Force Majeure, different fault etc) a call out charge will be incurred for the visit.

Assessment calls raised for reasons outside our sphere of influence or responsibility and not covered by the standard installation will incur a call out charge for labour and additional materials.

The following are examples of when a call out charge would be incurred:

  • Malicious Damage
  • Materials or Manufacturer Failure
  • System Modification
  • Incorrect User Diagnosis
  • Broadband Related
