The alro system is a good home security system that is easy to install. No cables are needed because cameras are with batteries and connect to the base wirelessly. It took me less than 15 minutes to place the cameras and set up the system.

The night mode is good and you can easily identify someone's face from a few meters at night.

Netgear offers free licenses for up to 5 cameras and up to 14 days cloud storage, however, this does not include constant recording. In the free mode, your cameras will record up to 120 sec when the camera detects sound and/or motion. The other mode is to record the duration of the event (sound or motion) up to 180 sec, however, I find that the longest clip in this mode is 20 sec.

If you would like to have 24/7 CCTV you have to subscribe to this service (around £60 per camera) and this is only possible with arlo pro2 model cameras. In addition, for all 24/7 cameras, you will need to connect them to the electricity network.

The battery life is not as advertised - 6 months for the pro and 3 months for the pro 2 cameras. In my case (where cameras are in disarmed mode most of the time) is around a month and a half for both pro and pro2 models.

The software that manages the base and the cameras has some issues as well. The geo mode (you can use smartphones to automatically trigger armed and disarmed mode if you leave or enter a perimeter around your home) is not reliable and usually stops working after a few hours/ days.

Bought the system for monitoring my drive. Installation was simplicity itself: base station and camera communicated without a problem.

Battery life on the camera is OK: I have about 20 events during a day and get maybe 45 days per charge, recharging at 15-20% battery.

Picture quality is just about ok. This is in no way HD, but acceptable - if you want/need 4K get a wired system. Night vision is fine, sensitivity is good.

The app is good, easy to use.

It’s expensive for the picture quality, but in my case, the ease of use outweighed the high price. I would recommend it.

Works as advertised. Use camera internally while house is empty, so haven't had to charge the camera yet.
