An excellent product in every way.

The presages service from safe.co.uk was exemplary: my questions about the product, and specifically around delivery and installation, were handled promptly, politely and comprehensively.

The safe itself was delivered on a pallet, wrapped in plastic to protect against the elements. I have an unusual staircase and so elected for delivery to my front door, rather than in-situ. Man-handling the safe into position upstairs was a simple job for two men (although I recommend investing a couple of pounds in grippy gloves from your local DIY store).

Installation was simple - the wall fixing bolts are included in the packaging - something that isn’t clear on the sales literature - so that was a pleasant surprise. The safe affixes very securely to the wall via pre-drilled holes in the rear of the safe.

The safe itself is very robust and exudes quality. My local police officer was intrigued by the fingerprint sensor, never having seen one on a domestic safe before. Thankfully he was happy that this exceeds the Home Office security requirements and so signed off on it as suitable for a UK FAC. In fact he was exceedingly complimentary about the robustness and security of the unit.

Fingerprint sensor works like a dream. Even for me - and I have problems with fingerprint sensors on mobile phones and when entering US theme parks, so that gets a massive thumbs-up from me (no pun intended).

All in all, I am very happy with the safe, and the service I received from safe.co.uk.

One final tip....

To protect the base of your firearms, I recommend the purchase of a foam pad from your local DIY store, which can be cut to shape for the base of the safe and the supporting shelf. High density foam flooring tiles work particularly well in my opinion and don’t look out of place in the dark colour scheme of the safe. Of course you could go for pastel pink children’s play tiles if that’s your thing...
