Is there a master key to use if the battery runs flat?
Miah
If the batteries run flat on this safe you can use the external battery pack which comes with this model. The pack connects to two external contacts on the keypad allowing you to enter the code and gain entry to the safe. Once the safe is open you can then replace the internal batteries.

How would you recommend fixing to a timber floor (chipboard on timber joists). Walls are plasterboard on timber stud, so not easy to make secure either.
Tony Douglas, MIDHURST
Ideally the safe would be best installed to a sold brick wall or concrete floor. However, if this method is not available to you, fixing the safe into timber joists using heavy duty wood screws is certainly better than no fixing at all. Before doing this I would advise checking with your insurer as they may not provide cover if installed to wood.

Can the Burton Eurovault Aver S2 1E be fitted on a shelf in a wardrobe and bolted to the rear wall?
Anonymous
The unit weighs 15kg and is designed to be floor mounted or affixed to an external wall. You could position this safe in a wardrobe but you need to be certain that the shelf can sufficiently distribute the weight to avoid this being focussed on the fixings in the wall.

I would like the safe to be fixed to a low - boxed in - shelf about six inches above a solid floor. Can the safe be fixed with long bolts into the floor below?
Anonymous
The safe comes with bolts around 4 inches in length although you can buy longer bolts from hardware stores if required. We recommended the safe is installed to either brick or concrete directly without any voids/gaps.
