I am looking for a safe for domestic use but which needs to be large enough to hold all the deeds for 2 houses birth certificates etc as well as items of jewellery. Looking for a 60 min fire protection, would you recommend this safe or another one?
Mrs Kallend, Taunton
This safe would be a good choice as it offers 60 minutes fire protection while boasting a £10,000 cash rating (eurograde 1). If the security level is too high based on your preference for fire protection you could also consider the Burton Firesec 4/60 Size 3. This safe also includes 60 minutes fire protection but has a lower security level with a £4,000 cash rating. This is an excellent safe and is less than half the cost. To be certain regards size we would need to know the measurements of the items you intend to store.

I want to fit this safe on the ground floor, on the top of a wooden floor (already laid) which is on top of concrete. Will the bolts be long enough to fix into the concrete- which is presumably more secure than just bolts into wood.
Mrs Macdermott, Bath
The fixing bolt supplied with this safe is 180mm in length. Providing this can anchor it the concrete this should be possible and is more secure than trying to affix to wood only.
