The top of the cage doesn't sit flush against the door, there is a big gap. Which means it isn't possible to secure the letterbox cage at the top and the bottom without one side popping off every time you opened it or not being able to open it all without the whole thing shifting, which would cause something to snap eventually. I improvised with attaching at the sides but it still doesn't sit straight. While I wouldn't have expected instructions with something like this, because it was so different to the one I was replacing (which didn't have a gap at the top) some recommended ways of putting it up would have been appreciated, especially if you had never put one of these up before. This does look a lot smarter than the previous one but it definitely won't last as long (the last one broke but had apparently been up for 20 years by this point!)

The letter cage is well made and just what is needed.

It is very deep and we could have done with one less deep because of the particular arrangement we have.
