Fitting the lock takes just a few minutes. The locks fitted easily into the doors and I've been very happy.

The only "learning curve" element with buying high security locks like this is to remember that your key goes in (and out) when the keyhole is in the horizontal position (90 degrees out from the traditional lock we've all grown up with). That takes a few days to sink in - lol.

I chose this CISA Astral S lock because I wanted a keyed pair for front and back doors. I needed the lock sizes to fit the doors and I also wanted the front lock in brass/goldish colour and the back in the steel/nickel colour.

Easily fitted as per any euro cylinder lock, Construction looks good and solid, operates smoothly with supplied keys. It's a thumb turn so secure from outside. Obviously it can be easily opened from the inside if someone breaks in through a window or other door (same as if you leave the key in the lock all the time though).

This lock had exactly the features that I was after, and available in the range of sizes I needed to fit to all doors. The ability to open from one side when a key is in the other side of the lock has already avoided a potentially costly mistake.

The lock looks good, seems secure (who knows!?) and works fine. The only complication I had was that the screw to fit it seemed to be ridiculously long and couldn't be used with my door. I was able to reuse the screw from the previous lock though, so not a major problem.

Very good product, quality, appearance, practicality.

I went for the internal knob and one-key solution.

I really can't understand why people keeps on having to use 5 different internal/external keys, one for each door., with the risk of being trapped in in case of emergency!

We have had some problems in the past with a key being left inside the lock and being unable to open it from the outside. We were keen to avoid this in future so we looked for a replacement cylinder that would avoid this problem.

We also wanted a symmetrical key and this CISA Astral S cylinder provided the answer. So far so good and lives up to expectations. The other options we looked at didn't have a symmetrical key so not really suitable as we didn't want to be fumbling in the dark trying to get the key into the lock in the pouring rain.
