How long are the batteries expected to last & do you get any warning in the event of battery failure?
Lee, Gravesend
This digital lock is mechanical rather than electronic and does not require batteries to operate. We do have a range of Digital Door Locks that are electronic and powered by batteries. Battery life would depend on how often you use it. Each lock will give a warning of low battery and there is a back up in case of lock out by either a key override or external battery point.

Does this lock conform to BS3621?
Michael Raymond, Nottingham
Unfortunately, none of the digital door locks conform with BS3621. You will need to use an insurance approved deadlock in order to meet BS3621 standard.

Can I get spare keys for this lock and if so can I order these at the same time as the lock?
Derek Bowden, Exeter
The lock comes with 2 keys and it is possible to order more keys when placing the order. These need to be ordered as a special item though, and cannot be ordered through the website. Please call our sales department via the free-phone number at the top of the website.

Does the key override the latch holdback if someone has switched that whilst it is locked?
Suzi, Norwich
The key is used to override the use of the code. On hold back position the latch would not need to be retracted with the key.

How are these links installed? I want to see if it's worth buying. I need something very simple.
Anonymous
Instructions for how to change the code can be found in the Codelocks CL255 User Guide. All mechanical door locks work in this way and setting the code is relatively simple. The red links/tumblers make up your user code. The blue links/tumblers are non-coded. Simply swap them around to change the code.
