No, unfortunately the latch cannot be reversed. However, if you are looking for a lock suitable for an outwards opening door, I can recommend our range of standard nightlatches.
How do I lock the lock from the inside of the house?
aysha, Blackheath
As this is an Auto Deadlocking Nightlatch, the lock is deadlocked when the door is closed. The purpose of the black snib on the back is to hold the latchbolt in the withdrawn position to allow free access.
I share the main entrance door with another household so am looking for an auto deadlocking rim nightlatch certificated to BS 8621:2007 A1:2009. Can you please recommend models. Can you please also advise whether you would choose an auto deadlocking rim nightlatch or a mortice sashlock with turn knob on the inside for a communal entrance door. Thanks!
