Easily installed , never had a problem and all works as it should and as yet never let me down , highly recommended as it’s easy to fit , very reasonably priced and there’s an accessory for all eventualities.

I chose the ERA Invincible as its one of the only branded GSM/SMS text messaging alarms available in the UK without turning to the like of Ebay or other Amazon sellers. The piece of mind is the unit has the dual function of using either a phone line or reverting to SIM card if needed and it doesn’t rely on an internet connection.

The product seems to have been made for ERA by Chuango, not a bad thing as they seem a major player in SMART technology.

I prefer hardwired alarms systems without a doubt but have installed a number of wireless ones including those from Yale too, I chose ERA vs. Yale as Yale does not seem to make a dual connectivity alarm as far as I’m aware. I would have liked to install a hardwired dual communicating alarm system, however these seemed to be prohibitively expensive, entering the world of professional installations and building monitoring systems and panels.

Out of the box the components seem to be of high quality, well packaged, comparable in quality to those from Yale. I would say in my opinion the alarm is less intuitive to set up that a Yale alarm, the quick guide to get up and running quickly is practically useless and you have to read the separate booklets that come with each of the attachments. The ERA alarm has a touch type panel that looks good but feels intermittent when tapped, Yale alarms tend to have menu buttons that are more tactile.

The ERA Invincible threw up a few similar problems encountered by other uses. Namely, one of the PIR’s was faulty and had to be replaced by ERA.

The second issue was that once connected the alarm causes noise on the phone line – Despite discussions with ERA this has not been overcome.

Other smaller issues are – the instructions are incorrect on how to change the Admin and User codes, again ERA described how to do this correctly over the phone and acknowledged the error in the instructions. For information – the code has to be put in twice, i.e. confirmed twice.

Lastly if you’ve bought the remote keypad accessory , it is only a one way device, therefore when you re-enter the property the keypad does not start beeping a countdown, you’d have to be able to hear the main console beeping instead, which in my case was not possible. In my opinion the remote keypad should be able to give an audible countdown.

Both SAFE and ERA have proven helpful in resolving the teething troubles encountered, providing a good service.

I would recommend the alarm despite the issues faced as it does seem reliable now up and running. I have not had any false alarms and the speed it communicates an alarm condition is very impressive, typically a second or two. If I could remove the rhythmic pulsing sound on my phone line I’d be happier still….

Good alarm, easy to install. Pleased with it. I had a faulty PIR sensor but this was easy to sort out and Safe.co.uk organised a replacement.

Feels a smart, modern piece of kit. Easy to install and configure through the main panel.

Not without bugs/issues though:

-The main panel seemed keen to enrol 'rogue' devices ahead of the supplied sensors - meaning that I had to delete a number of detected wireless sources manually.

-One PIR returned and replaced due to spurious alerts in an empty room despite relocating.

-One door sensor currently removed from system due to tamper alerts upon door closure.

-The main panel has 'hung' three times - usually linked to power outages - this requires removal from the wall and a hard reset to recover. This does allow testing of the tamper alert and sounder though :)
