If I were to purchase the Valiant and the Invincible systems, will the remote key fobs and RFID tags arm and disarm the entire combined system, or does each system have to be armed and disarmed independently?
Matt, Bristol
It is possible to combine the Valiant and the Invincible alarm systems so that they can be controlled via the same tags and fobs. The Valiant alarm system can be used as an accessory pack for use with any of the ERA Wireless Burglar Alarms.
Do these alarms use any form of signal encryption or data protection. How easy are they to disable with any hacking device as mentioned in the daily mail for the mi-guard.
khushpal Jandoo, Coventry West Midlands
The ERA invincible works on a secure and private 433MHZ radio frequency. However I can also recommend the ERA HomeGuard Smart Alarm Pro - Premium Kit which has anti Tamper technology.
Does this alarm connect to your wifi network and send out alerts over the broadband connection or is it entirely reliant on SIM card data to issue alerts?
Max, London
The ERA Invincible alarm does not connect to your home broadband. Notifications are sent to your phone by text or app notifications using GSM technology. This alarm also connects to a landline telephone for call alerts.
Whats the difference between ERA Miguard and the ERA Invincible alarm system?
Justin Ward, Crawley
The ERA Invincible is the upgraded model from the Mi-Guard series. The main difference is the Mi-Guard was available in two models, WiFi or Telecommunication. The ERA Invincible can do both.
With the ERA Invincible alarm system, do the two parts of the magnetic door contact have to be at the same angle to work? our doors have chamfered frames, therefore the gap would be okay, but the two parts would be at different angles.
Would the vibration sensors be better?
Philip Gunn, Kent
Though the parts of the window sensor do not need to be touching, they do need to be with 2mm of each other and at the same level/angle. It may be worth considering the vibration sensor.
We want to alarm our garage - are there suitable PIR sensors to do this available - I've been told a dual sensor one is best also does the RFID keypad include an internal siren or does this need to be added separately?
Dave, Guilford
The ERA PIR's which work on a duel sensor would be suitable as long as the garage is within 80 metres frequency range of the hub. The RFID keypad does not include an internal siren however the actual hub has one built in which would siren when any component is activated.
If someone smashes the main hub will this stop the alarm system from working? Is the siren based in the main hub.
Nick Walker, Huddersfield
The Hub has its own internal siren which would be activated when the alarm is triggered. Should the Hub be damaged / destroyed then the system would no longer be active. You would however receive a notification of the initial alarm activation prior to the hub being located and damaged.
What type of batteries are in the PIRS and the RFID unit for the ERA wireless alarm system and how long on average do they last before requiring changing? .
Robert Witter, Newcastle
The PIRs are powered by AA batteries which usually last approximately 18 months before they require changing. The RIFD Control Panel is primarily mains powered, but does include a back up battery should you experience a power outage.
We've got a detached garage (probably 40ft from the house) - would the PIR sensors work at this range?
Richard Clarke, Diss
The alarm sensors have an 80 meter wireless range so they should still function. The range from the hub can sometimes effect the connectivity if it close to the wireless range limit.
Is this package suitable for a house with 3 cats?
Is it possible to buy and add extra components?
Paola , London
The PIR motion sensors supplied with this system as standard are pet friendly. Additional components are available and can be selected from the listed accessories at the point of order.
How do you set the telephone numbers, and does the system text all numbers if the alarm goes off, or just one of them?
Roopa, Bristol
Telephone numbers can be programmed through the control panel. Once the alarm is activated the system will contact each person saved as an emergency contact in sequence.
What's the difference between the invincible alarm and the G5?
Paul Priedkalns, Corby
The ERA Miguard G5 is an older version of our ERA Invincible. The Era Invincible offers the option to connect the hub to a landline socket via Ethernet cable (included).
Can you fully control this system from your smartphone? Or will it just send notifications if intruder detected?
Vicki Petersen, St Annes
You can access all of the alarm settings and features via the ERA Invincible Alarm App (available on Android and IOS). The system can be activated and deactivated using your smartphone.
