Can the combination number be changed? So, after each user the number is changed so the last user can't get access again.
Clare, London
The code can be changed and is easy to do. Once the code has been changed the previous access code will become obsolete. If you are worried about unauthorised code changes, you can add an Anti-Tamper Code Cover to your order, meaning only you will be able to change the code by removing the code cover with a small screwdriver.

What tools are required for installation? I read somewhere that this needs a non-standard screwdriver.
Annette Harris, London
The C500 Key Safe is supplied with a masonry mounting kit that includes 4 heavy-duty sleeveless screws. You will need a 5mm masonry drill bit and a Torx T30 screwdriver to complete the installation.

It says that this lock will hold up to 5 Yale keys - would it hold one Yale and one Chubb key or is it too narrow?
Christine H, Cheltenham
The internal measurement of the C500 is 79 x 50 x 22mm (HxWxD). This would most likely be sufficient but I would advise measuring your key to be absolutely certain.

I am interested in the C500 for domestic use. However, I have read that push button systems are limited in that the right buttons but pressed in the any order will allow access..... 12345, 54321 and 45231 etc will all allow access. Is this the case with this key safe? Thanks
Keith
Yes, this is the case. It is called non-sequential PIN entry and means your chosen PIN code can be entered in any order providing the correct digits are used.

This system applies to all mechanical push button locks. The only alternative is a Dial Combo Lock Key Safe. The lock is similar to a bike lock with a PIN that must be entered in sequence.

The reviews mention it comes in black but is advertised in 'sand' - can you choose?

Is fixing okay to reconstituted(flat) stone block rather than brick - will self-tappers supplied, cope?
Andrew Turner, Newport Pagnell
This unit only comes in one colour which is the light grey finish, there is a dark grey plastic cover and this goes over the key safe to provide protection.

The fixing supplied with this unit are okay to affix to stone or brick.

I need a key safe that will hold 6 keys, will this one do?
N Ladzrie
This depends on what design and length keys you wish to store inside the unit. This particular key safe will accommodate 5-6 Yale type design key's.

You say their is over 4000 possible combinations how come their are 10 numbers and two letters this means to me their a lot more combinations than that . To me it makes 2000000000 combinations .
Are you saying you can only use a limit number of numbers . Please explain .Thank you . Robert
Robert Smith, Huddersfield
The lower than expected number of combinations is because each digit can only be used once and in any sequence. It is known as non-sequential code entry and is a result of the lock being mechanical rather than electronic. An example being if you set the code to 1234 it could be entered as 4321 or 3142 and the key safe would unlock. This is common with all mechanical push button key safes.

I have bought a house with one of your outdoor key safe but I have not got the code, can you help?
Patrick Mccall, Harlingtom
I afraid there is no override for this key safe. The only way to open this unit is by using the last code set.
