Srong, secure, fire and waterproof and easy to move around. A thief could carry it away. It depends wher it is stored as it looks as though it would contain valuables, even if it doesn't. If this is a problem (not for me) then it would probably be better to purchase a fixed safe.

Bought to store backup data disks from fire and it does the job fitting in at least half a dozen HDDs. I can't vouch for its effectiveness unless I burn it myself but it is a sturdy piece of fire safe and I would not hesitate to buy another if it had to be replaced but here's hoping never!

Opening mechanism isn't quite as easy to open and you have to be careful to ensure it is closed securely.

Relatively cheap product for domestic file/document storage. Can be easily stored away in a cupboard.

The best range of security products I could find on the internet, especially for the domestic market.

Very heavy. Mine has a little knack to opening the lid, have to jiggle a bit before the lock will release.

It is the right size for documents, no more curley edges from when I had a box that was exactly A4.

+ Good size to store documents flat. Slightly convex base means it swivels when you push the button to open the lid

+ Gives peace of mind provided I remember to store all my important documents. Heavy but that is to be expected.

+ Value for money.

+ Holds A4 documents.

+ Instructions to open poor but OK once you realise that you have to push down hard on the lid before turning the lock key.

Questions & Answers (1)

I am looking for a Waterproof Fire Chest that is not easily "picked" but that can actually withstand burglars as well. I like this one but is it secure?
Anonymous
Fire Chests are designed to protect documents and sometimes digital media from fire and water damage. Although they have a lock, they are not deemed particularly secure. Additionally a potential thief could easily carry a fire chest away.

Ideally you should consider one of our Waterproof Safes. These include fire and water protection, a much more secure lock and include the option to be bolted to the floor.
