I am looking for a Waterproof Fire Chest that is not easily "picked" but that can actually withstand burglars as well. I like this one but is it secure?
Anonymous
Fire Chests are designed to protect documents and sometimes digital media from fire and water damage. Although they have a lock, they are not deemed particularly secure. Additionally a potential thief could easily carry a fire chest away.

Ideally you should consider one of our Waterproof Safes. These include fire and water protection, a much more secure lock and include the option to be bolted to the floor.

Would drilling holes in the base so that it can be bolted down with a heat resistant sealing washer under the head of each bolt be acceptable? Would this affect the water-proofing and fire-proofing capabilities of this safe?
And would the product warranty be voided?
John Burt, Bridge of Weir
Drilling holes in the unit would compromise the fire and water protection and would also invalidate the warranty.

How do I open my safe, when I turn the key it won't unlock?
Jeff, York
Downward pressure needs to be applied to the top of the safe whilst turning the key to release the latch mechanism.
