A sizeable enclosure with 12 possible alphanumeric buttons to choose from. Note that the numbers can be entered in any order so it is not a high security device. I'm trying to persuade my parents to get one.

The lock release button requires a fair amount of effort to operate and it's quite slippery. Thus, it can cost you a nail or two so it might not be for those with long fingernails. The fixing supplied are not suitable. I used hammer fixings although this did mean that I had to enlarge the holes in the back of the box.

This keysafe is ideal if one wants it for regular use. The push button access is better than a dial system as even if left open accidentally the number is not visible.

The first key safe we bought was too difficult to use. The buttons to open the safe were too tough and it hurt the fingers. However, on contacting the supplier, they replaced it with another with no question or quibbling and it was sent immediately. I was impressed. This second one is providing us with a very satisfactory service. Thank you.

Robust box, good quality. The buttons are quite heavy to use, you need strong fingers to push the opening button downwards

Tricky to install when putting the lowest screw in the wall.

The ulocking latch needs to be used when closing the safe. Other wise good value for money

It is a well built product and very roomy given its functional requirements. The problem lies with the key pad the keys are a little small so they hurt your fingers when you depress them.

The only reason I hadn’t invested in a mini key safe sooner was because, out of ignorance ,I felt I would never be able to trust one to do the job properly. How wrong was I!!!After locking myself out of my house and having to pay £300 to get back in,and have the lock replaced ,I decided to do some research.Well, believe me ,my choice of Master Lock Push Button Key Safe was the best decision I’ve made in a long time.It was easy to fit, plenty of room inside, nice positive action on the push buttons and a very attractive cover which makes is look aesthetically pleasing. I’m really, really pleased with it and seriously recommend it.It has also saved me money because I no longer have to buy extra keys for my family to use.

It was supposed to be robust- it's not. It broke after 6 weeks of carers using it 3 times a day- button jammed had to be jemmied off the wall

The buttons are too close together and too stiff to push in, so wouldn't recommend for the elderly or anyone with large hands/fingers.

Does the installation of a key safe effect regular household insurance?
Anonymous
As with any security item, you must always check with your insurance company to see how things affect your policy.

We don't sell any Key Safe that is officially insurance approved but we do have the GE C500 Police Approved KeySafe which is currently the highest security rated key safe on our website.

Can this key-safe be fixed into wood. I see some key safes are for fixing into bricks or cement only.
Anonymous
Yes, the unit can be installed into wood. However the bolts that come with the unit are masonry bolts. You may need to purchase additional bolts suitable for wood from your local hardware store.

Must the numbers be entered in the correct sequence or will any order open the safe?
Anonymous
Whatever PIN you choose can be entered in any sequence. It is called non-sequential PIN entry and means your chosen PIN code can be entered in any order providing the correct digits are used. E.g. if you chose 1234 as your code this could be entered as 4321, 3241, 1432 or any other variation of 1234.

This system applies to all mechanical push button locks. The only alternative is a Dial Combo Lock Key Safe. The lock is similar to a bike lock with a PIN that must be entered in sequence.

Standard Key Safe Installation

We offer professional installation on our complete range of Key Safes.

Our experienced engineer will complete a brief site inspection and then discuss their findings with you to agree positioning of your key safe.

Your installation will include fixing the key safe to an exterior wall using the fixings included with your key safe. The fixings are designed for use with a solid surface such as brick or concrete.

The position of your key safe will be governed by safe site access, and other obstructions such as submerged pipes or cables within the wall.

The engineer will carry out a final assessment to ensure the key safe is secure before providing a brief demonstration of your key safe and confirming the installation has been completed to your satisfaction.

Non-standard Installation

In some cases, it may be necessary to install additional materials or provide extra resources (manpower) to facilitate an installation in a safe manner.

If additional costs are likely these will be discussed with you prior to installation. Reasons for extra costs might include:

  • Specialised access equipment and permits such as hoists, lifts and cranes.
  • Outside of normal hours working (Mon-Fri, 9am to 5pm).
  • 4x4 Vehicular access requirements to remote rural sites.
  • Road closure including necessary permits.
  • Additional manpower to overcome technical, lifting or safety access issues.

We offer installation throughout the UK mainland, however some more remote and rural post codes in the Highlands are subject to a surcharge to cover additional fuel and traveling time costs.

The following areas will incur a rural travel surcharge:

£55.00 Surcharge Areas

These additional elements are deemed to fall outside the definition of a 'Standard Installation'. If you feel your installation might be non-standard please contact us to discuss your individual requirements.

If applicable, additional costs are to be paid before installation begins.

Warranty Terms & Conditions

Our installer provides a standard 12 month warranty on all new installations and a 3 month warranty on all materials provided during maintenance visits.

Note: Existing system components and pre-supplied equipment are not included in the installation warranty as these elements are covered by the Manufacturer warranty.

We reserve the right to undertake an ‘Assessment Call’ without prejudice to investigate any complaints relating to materials failure or poor workmanship to assess if the complaint is valid. Please note that remedial service calls generated by elements outside of our sphere of influence or due to different fault conditions will be chargeable to you at an agreed call out charge.

In scenarios where you request a post installation service call and our assessment identifies the fault condition or cause of the fault falls outside of the limitations of the standard installation warranty (Force Majeure, different fault etc) a call out charge will be incurred for the visit.
