It is possible to self drill installation holes on the rear of the safe, however this would affect the warranty and could be very difficult to do due to the thickness of the steel.

We would tend to agree with you regarding this safe. It is higher spec than safes with a similar insurance rating, but it is the manufacturer who determines this and they have decided on £1,000. We find that manufacturers from the US tend to do this.
