In the event of a fire, whilst the contents is preserved what happens to the locks - the key system or an electronic lock. What happens with an electronic lock in the event of a battery failure during normal use please?
Peter J Roberts, Shropshire
In the event of a fire and depending on its severity the lock itself may still be functional and could possibly still be operated with the key. With an electronic safe if the keypad sustained damage that made the keypad unusable then an engineer or locksmith call out may be required to open the safe. During general use with the electronic lock if the batteries fail they can be changed from the outside, by removing the front facia of the keypad.
