Yes the unit is also designed to store rifles (without scopes). However if you do wish to store rifles with scopes I can recommend the JFC 4/6 Rifle Safe.

This unit is not suitable to base fix horizontally to a solid floor. If you require a gun cabinet that can then I would recommend the Brattonsound Auto 2 Gun - 32

This unit can't be hinged on the left. You may want to take a look at the Brattonsound ST3 Sentinel 3 Gun Cabinet which can be left hand hinged.
