It is sturdy, very well manufactured and well finished. I did take advice from another reviewer who had pre-welded the lock tube onto the base post before setting them in concrete. It would have been very tedious to position the two correctly otherwise!

I haven't used the post yet but t is clear that the post's height will need to be adjusted (by cutting and welding) if it important to set the caravan reasonably level. Not a problem for me but many would not have this option.

The other thing that I might do is to fill the post with concrete - to hamper any attempt to cut through it with an angle grinder. Not sure if this will make cutting through it much more difficult but it costs very little.

First of all I am going to thank SAFE with us for both the price and perhaps more importantly the pleasant manner that my questions and order were dealt with. Now to comment on the bulldog SA7L removable hitch post, Although I was aware of the size and weight of the Hitch post when I received it I was surprised how big and how heavy it was it’s given me a great confidence for securing my caravan in my driveway. As an engineer the quality of the welding and the thickness of the materials used the term “over engineered” could be used meaning that it is stronger than it needs to be. An excellent Hitch post that I have proudly shown and regularly impressed friends with similar security requirements. Michael.

It's just fine. I pre welded the two bits that go in the concrete together just to make the job easier.

Otherwise I have no problems with the post. Having bought a van with a built in wheel lock I'm now not sure how much use the post will get.

there are cheaper products on the market but this one is by far the safest way to secure your caravan from some very detemined thieves
