This unit does not come with a back up key. In the event of battery failure the unit can be opened by holding a 9V battery to the connection points on the keypad and entering the correct code. We do offer key cabinets on the website, such as the Phoenix Electronic Key Cabinet KS0032e that do come with physical back up keys should you wish to consider this.
