A surprising amount of internal space despite a small footprint. Very easy to use and the added advantage of being able to bolt the unit to the floor.

Great peace of mind for storage of data back-up hard disks and paperwork, valuables etc. Excellent value for money and well worth purchasing. You can't put a price on the security of precious items and valuable data.

Initially had a bit of a problem getting the safe open but soon realised that that rechargeable batteries we were using were abl...

good size for cost and easy to use. Proved relatively simple to move with a trolley. installing batteries was awkward as it took some effort/grip to untwist the keypad.

This product is value for money. It is easy to use and not at all complicated. The safe itself is solid and the material it is made from will last forever. The interior is large enough to store plenty of documents and things that are worth money. The instructions that come with the safe are easy to follow and it didn't take us long to set it up. We trust the safe completely now and would have no qualms about recommending this product to other people. Perhaps the only criticism is that it c...

This safe is heavy and well built the instructions are clear and precise, the electric door lock works well and the dual lock function adds to security. The only gripe I would have is the security bolts and plugs supplied did not do the job they were to short so you can wobble the safe and they just worked loose I guess a bit of

12mm re bar will do the trick. And a bit of chemical cement which is available from most good diy stores b and q etc. The handle was a bit stiff to open but a bit of w...

Q&A [8]

Questions & Answers (8)

Can the mechanical lock be used instead of the keypad, or do both have to be used to unlock the safe?
AA
This is a Dual Lock safe using both an electronic keypad and a key lock to access the unit. The safe cannot be accessed without the key and electronic combination being used.

What happens when the batteries come to be completely discharged and the door is locked? How do you get the door open?
keith, York
In the event that the batteries run out of power the safe will indeed lock down, however the batteries on this unit are changed on the outside by removing the keypad. Once the batteries have been replaced the safe can be unlocked using the code that you have set previously as normal.

If the safe is subjected to a significant fire, would this damage the keypad? If so, how would you open the safe when you need both the keypad and barrel key to unlock. Is there an after fire procedure to unlock?
David, Manchester
The keypad includes some plastic and rubber components that would be damaged in the fire. The safe would need to be broken in to in order to retrieve the contents. Master Lock will then replace your damaged safe for a brand new one under the warranty.

In event of a fire, will the safe protect a hard drive back up of the computer? If so, how long for? You only mention other types of media in other questions.
Jo
Yes this safe will protect a computer hard drive, the fire protection on this is 120 minutes.

Does this safe have wall fixing holes? I do not have concrete floors and would need to secure it to a wall.
Anonymous
This safe does not have pre-drilled holes in the back of the unit to allow wall fixing. This is due to the fire rating the safe has. Any safe with 60 mins fire protection or more is floor fix only. We do offer a range of 30 Minute Fire Protected Safes that would allow a wall fix should you wish to consider these.

It states this safe is not suitable for tapes or film, and for digital media only. Would it still be suitable for keeping paper safe in a fire?
Afraz
Yes, paper has a much higher temperature tolerance than tapes, film and digital media. This safe would provide the full 120 minutes fire protection for any paper documents.
