The product is functionable but we've only had it a month or so & it's already going rusty, despite being under a porch shelter. Surely it's supposed to be weather resistant ?

The box looks very attractive on the wall and the colour looks nice with a galvanised gate or galvanised bins. It does not take up too much depth or overall space whilst still being roomy.

Although the lock and the box are not as secure as a door letter box, it can help if dogs or other animals or children are in the house and if they may tear up the letters or small packages.

It is really nice to be able to open the box when you want to and have the mail come into the home when you want it to. Imagine having the plumber call at the same time as the postman or just after and be coming in when you are picking letters from the floor. The space for letters is really spacious and the space for newspapers useful for the junk mail and for leaving small parcels when the postman sees you wave from the upstairs window to do so.

The gates can be locked and the post can get in. Small children can stay in, dogs can stay in, the small lock on the gate no longer creates problems and the garden can be enjoyed without the worry about intrusions of postmen or leaflet distributors.

When we have Avon calling or Kleeneazee, they can pick up their brochures from the newspaper with or without orders.

I do not know how weatherproof the box will be over the next 5 years but it is so elegant that I would be glad to paint the box up rather than allow it to deteriorate. Hopefully these boxes are galvanized, dipped into hot zinc before being painted.
