Have fitted the lock but was expecting to be able to double lock with key from outside to deadlock the door. This does not happen. Have I fitted it incorrectly?

The inside handle can be deadlocked by a reverse turn of the key in the outside cylinder after closing the door.

Please can you give me the dimensions of the "Staple"? I have very little space on the door frame so it would be useful to know this.

Once fitted to the door casing with the door closed, the dimensions are 70mm x 25.5mm (HxW). The depth is 54mm.
