Additional keys can be purchased from the Yale store.

With the door open and unlocked press the red programme button located on the edge of the battery compartment (Audible Beep). Now enter your desired code onto the keypad followed by the ENTER button to confirm (Melody Confirmation). The code entered should now be usable as your personal access code. Good quality AA batteries should last between 12 and 18 months. When the batteries are running low a red light will appear on the keypad when entering your code.

We will always recommend that a safe is bolted to a floor or wall where possible as this increases security. The safe will function exactly the same if left free standing and can be used as such, but the potential for it to be removed is obviously increased. It may also affect your insurance cover if not bolted to a solid surface.

The key hole is hidden behind the yellow Yale logo on the front of the door. The logo slides upwards to reveal the key hole and this applies to all sizes in the Yale Value Series.

If you take a look at the close up images above you will see one showing the logo has moved and the back-up key has been inserted.

This Safe does not come with a factory default pin. In order to gain access to the safe without a pin code you would need the to use the back up key provided.

Two back up keys are supplied with the safe. If you need more, they can be purchased direct from Yale.

To fix this unit to the wall you would require an 8mm drill bit.

Please add an additional 20mm to the external depth dimensions to cover the depth of the keypad and handle.

Ideally you should not attach the safe to anything that is freestanding, it is recommended to base or wall fix it to concrete or brick. If you have no option other than the cupboard it is certainly better then nothing.

Unfortunately this safe carries no fire rating. However we do have a selection of Fire Safes which all have various levels of fire resistance.

The keypad on this safe has durable plastic membrane designed to allow daily use.

Unfortunately not, most safes that are manufactured come off the production line moulded by one singular template. However a left handed customisation could be done on a higher graded safe depending on the manufacturer.

UK Firearms law states that ammunition must be kept in a separate locked box from your rifle. This safe will be more than adequate for that purpose.

This safe can be installed to an exterior wall, however this can only be done through the rear of the safe. There are no pre-drilled holes in the side walls of any of the safes only in the base and the rear.

Unfortunately the safe cannot be opened without the correct user code or back up keys.

This safe uses 4 x AA batteries, please ensure these are standard alkaline and non-rechargeable.

No all passwords are memorised you can only reset/change the password manually.

To reset the code, the safe door needs to be in a open position. There is a reset button on the back of the door, once pressed you will hear two beeps which will allow you to enter your new code followed by the key button. Further details can be found in the Yale Value Safe user guide.

The PIN code for this safe can be 4 to 8 digits in length.

You can download the user guide for this safe on the details tab of this page. Your safe is supplied with two emergency override keys in the event you cannot use the PIN code. For security reasons if you do not have one of these keys and have forgotten your PIN code the only way to access the safe will be to have an MLA (Master Locksmith Association) approved locksmith force open your safe.

This safe is designed for the storage of small amounts of cash or valuables only, it does not offer any fire protection. We do offer a range of Fire Safes on the website which may be more suitable should you wish to consider these.

There are 2 pre-drilled holes in the base of this unit. These are located 45mm in from the left and right hand edges of the safe.
