Does it have to be connected to a phone line?
Andrew Shipley, Selby
If keypad is connected to a telephone socket, the system will then alert you via telephone when the alarm is triggered. Without this, the alarm would still function as a standard alarm without notifications.

I wanted to know if the 200m range beam is directional. Or is it dependant which way the control panel is facing. Thanks
Savvas Pilacoutas, london
The 200 metre extended range secures all of your home in a circular radius not just where the hub is facing.

I want to alarm my steel framed workshop as well as the house, will the wireless signal still work through the house walls to detectors in the workshop, approximately 10 metres away?

Unfortunately the system would not work reliably with a steel-framed area due to reflection of the a radio signals.

What motion sensors are suitable for a large dog over 25kg?
Irene Foster, Horley
There are no Pet Friendly sensors that have threshold of larger than 25kg. Anything larger than this size would trigger both standard and Pet Friendly PIR motion sensors. You may prefer to use a Yale Intruder Door Contact on your doors and windows.

I am looking to buy a Yale IA-230 system with a few accessories. The one thing I can't find however is either a matching Dummy Siren Box or better still a live Siren Box that I can add to the system so I have 2 fitted one front and one back of the property.
Gary Wearing, Hitcin
Unfortunately, additional siren boxes are not available to purchase as accessories for the Yale alarm systems. You may wish to consider the Yale SR-330 Smart Home Alarm & View Kit which does come with a siren and dummy siren box.

Part of my house is a WiFi dead spot. Is this going to affect any of the components that it would ideally locate in that area?
Rich M, Caldicot
This particular system does not require internet access, the system is connected to the mains and your landline phone socket and will contact each component via secure radio waves.
