If I connect this to a Yale Easy Fit Telecommunicating Alarm using the Yale CCTV Alarm Link USB Adaptor will the app allow me control of the alarm?

The link adaptor is designed to connect smart CCTV with the Yale Smart Alarms. The Telecommunicating alarm is operated via a telephone line rather than a smartphone app.

Is it necessary to have the DVR connected to the router? or is router connection only if you want to view you activity via your phone APP.

No, the DVR when connected will allow connection to the APP but it not essential.

Does the system send alerts to the mobile device when there's movement detected on the cameras?

The system does not send alerts to your mobile device but you can access the system remotely with your mobile via the Yale Home App.

What happens if the power supply is cut off to the system? Does the system restart automatically on resumption of power?

Yes the system will turn on automatically when the power is regained.

When the HDD is full, does the system automatically re-write over the old data - or does it require a clear/re-set of some sort?

The system will continuously record for approximately 15 days with the camera set on the optimum resolution settings. When the storage capacity is met it will automatically overwrite the earliest recorded data.

I see I can connect direct to my router, is it possible to connect to a network point in the house instead? My router and the box are in completely different areas of the house.

It is possible to use a TP link box however please
make sure that the box is plugged directly into the landline socket.

I am thinking about running this camera with wires along the bottom of my house. If the wire is cut will the recordings still hold and will I be alerted that the wire has been cut? Thanks

If the camera cable was cut the data would still be saved on the DVR. The system will notify you if cameras or cables are tampered with.

How easy is it to install yourself if you have no idea? Or does it require an electrician? Are there fitting instructions?

These systems are designed for self installation with out the need to hire an electrician or engineer. The components themselves employ a wireless connection to the main hub and instructions for set up and fitting is provided with the system.

Are the cameras wireless or do they have to be plugged directly into the hardrive?

The cameras are wired into the DVR unit with a 15 meter BNC cable. If you prefer to have wireless cameras, you should consider the Arlo Pro Security Camera Systems.

What size hole do I need through the wall to pass the camera cables through?

The BNC Camera cables have a 5mm diameter so providing the hole you drill is larger than this it should fit through.
