I have a small secureline cash safe well secured into my bedroom cupboard. The battery is completely flat. the lights dont even flash. There is only a star screw in between the digital pad and the thing you turn to open the safe. How do I open it now?

      Hi Diana,

All safes arrive with an override in the event of battery failure. You will have either been provided with a backup key or your safe should have the provision to power the lock externally. Depending up on which model you have, you can plug in a 9v battery to the keypad or by plugging in an external battery holder that may have been provided you can power the lock, get into the safe and change the batteries.

If you are still struggling, please get in touch with our customer service team on 0800 432 0722. We can provide you with instructions and check on the availability of spare parts if you have misplaced them.

      Dear Tony,

Like you, my first thought would be to change the batteries. When anything strange starts to happen, it is usually due to lack of power. Dependant on which model you have, there should be either a back up key or a back up power point to accept a 9v battery. Have you tried the back up?

Once you are inside the safe you should follow the procedure to set a new code.

If you still have no joy, then call our customer services department on 0800 432 0722. We should be able to point you in the right direction.

My Secureline Pro S1 safe has started beeping regularly – single beep, several times a minute. I assumed it was a flat battery indicator so I replaced the battery and it still beeps. Also, the “on” button now takes ages to respond – you basically have to hold it in for a time and let go to turn the safe on. Original code still working – could there be another battery in there somewhere that needs changing?

There is no second battery on your safe. If you call our customer services team on the number above someone might be able to help. Although I have to admit it does sound an odd issue if you have replaced your batteries.

These safes are almost certain to have the batteries go flat then you can not get your stuff out unless you pay money to a safe expert to open it. What a terrible product.

      Hi Cam,

These safes have either the option of a back-up override key or an external power supply so the problem you mention will not apply. There is always an alternative way to access these safes.

      Hi Sean,

I’m sorry to hear that you are having problems with your safe.

This does seem to be a strange problem. If the safe has new batteries and the safe seems to be accepting the code, then obviously the door should open.

Is there anything on the inside that is perhaps jamming the lock bolt work?

      Dear Neels,

Unfortunately there is no code that is available to give out for these safes. Once the default code has been changed the factory code is obsolete.

Some SecureLine models have a back up key to override the keypad. I assume you don’t have those?

Because of the nature of this product it is not easily accessed without a code or key.

You may need to contact a locksmith who could change the lock for you.

    Hi

I have an opened SecureLine BL-23E safe (with the locks extended preventing closing the doors) and have no code previously entered (gone with the employee that left the company four years ago). Is it possible to change (reset) to factory defaults etc or there is no use now from the safe and it is just the metal box.

      Dear Fortunatas,

The code can be re-set by pressing the reset button on the inside of the safe (located above the battery compartment). Once you have pressed this button a yellow light will illuminate. Enter a new code between 3-8 digits followed by the ‘A’ or ‘B’ button.

By following these steps, you should be able to set and use a new code.

I hope that this helps. I will email you a copy of the user guide for you to keep.

        Hi Jonathan,
I have a secureline safe that I inherited from a family friend, managed to get it working some time ago but it refuses to open for me now. The keypad layout differs from anything that I can find on your site. It comprises four rows: 1 2 3
        4 5 6
        7 8 9
        A 0 B
Should I press either A or B before or after entering the code?

From the images on your Australian site it looks like a B-25 K/E

        Your help will be appreciated.

I have just inherited an S2 safe with a house that I have bought. I tried to change the code as per the manual that the previous owners left for me. I entered the standard access code 123456 then entered my new code. As per the manual I didn’t close the door while I checked it out. Now the bolts have closed and it won’t accept what I put in as my new code so I cant get them to retract. Help please! How can I retract the bolts and try again to reset the code. There is nothing that I can see inside or outside of the safe to allow me to reset anything.

      Dear Joyce,

I’m sorry to hear that you have having some problems.

It sounds as though you are doing everything correctly. If the safe is not accepting the new code, maybe the standard access code is still active.

We would advise changing the batteries to a good quality alkaline battery to ensure the safe has enough power to operate.

Follow the instructions again for changing the code. Press ON, Press P, enter 123456 followed by a new code which you must repeat in order to register.

To open the safe press ON, then enter your new code.

I hope this helps but do let us know if you still require assistance.

      Hi Richard,

I’m not sure what this could be. The beeping would normally indicate low battery but new batteries should have sorted that.

      Dear Hildur,

The ‘E-Bar’ message is usually an indication of a fault with the lock unfortunately.

The SecureLine safes have not been sold for a while now, so there is a chance that your safe is out of warranty.

A locksmith in your local area may be able to get in to the safe for you or you could speak to the people where you purchased the safe to see if they can recommend a solution.

Please let me know if we can be of any further assistance.

      Dear James,

The batteries are changed on the inside of the safe with the Secureline safes.

To open the safe after the batteries have ran out, you will either need to open the safe with an override key, plug in an external power pack or attach a 9v battery to the keypad. The override function used would be dependant to the model type.

      Hi Jo,

Please see details of how to do this below. Please note that the safe door has to be open to do this…

      Changing the 1st access code
Note: this can only been done when the safe is
unlocked and the door is open.
      1. Press button: * * 1. The LCD display will show
      “-PROG-” and “-CODE-”.
      2. Enter now your personal 6-digit code. The LCD
display will show “-GOOD-”, when the new
      code is stored correctly.
      3. DO NOT CLOSE THE DOOR YET!; test the new
      code before closing the safe.

I hope this helps but please get in touch if you need anything further.

      Hi Saima,

The safe should give a warning when the battery is running low. This will either be a beep or a red light depending on which model you have.

Once the warning is given, simply change the batteries as soon as you can.

Reading here I’m assuming its a fault with the lock , but will it be ok to continue using it with just the key?

      Hi Andy,

You are correct. The ‘E-Bar’ message shows because there is a fault with the lock. Unfortunately, unless a safe engineer repairs the safe, you will not be able to operate it via the keypad. The plug in lead and battery pack are designed to provide emergency power to the lock in case the batteries fail.

You should still be able to operate the safe using the key. You can find a copy of the user guide here.
