Easter Charity Challenge
The Easter Charity Challenge, Avenham Park, Preston, 21st April, 12pm – 1pm

We are pleased to announce details of our Easter Charity Challenge which will be happening on the 21st April. Local charities will scour Preston’s Avenham Park for secret codes in an epic Easter egg style hunt. The correct codes will unlock 3 of our jackpot safes with £5,000 up for grabs for the lucky winners! Everyone will be a winner on the day and all the charities will receive a donation just for taking part.

The Easter Charity Challenge is being funded by The Safe Shop and organised alongside Preston City Council’s Easter festivities, including the historic Egg Rolling event that has attracted up to 40,000 people in the past! It promises to be a great event which will help raise awareness of the great charities in the region and we need your help in selecting ten charities to attend on the day.

Anthony, Managing Director, The Safe Shop says:

“There are so many great charities in the region, many of which rely entirely on fundraising, and we’re keen to give something back and help support them in their activities. As a Preston based company we’re keen to support those making a positive impact in our community.”

Lorraine is from St Catherine’s Hospice, one of the charities hoping to be shortlisted for the event:

“We’re delighted to be part of the first ever Easter Charity Challenge – it sounds like it’s going to be a really fun event! St Catherine’s is a local charity built by local people for local people, and we always embrace the opportunity to join in with community events like this.”

SS Charity CollageWe need your help!

With so many great charities out there, we need your help to shortlist 10 charities to take part in the challenge. Simply vote for your top 3 charities using the voting system below and the 10 charities with the highest votes will be invited to take part in the challenge.

We all think Katy’s family are pretty amazing it’s a selfless task raising funds, but the family are doing something for others, to help people all over with a very serious problem, I think more should be done for Charity’s like the Katy Holmes trust to help them develop and grow, it’s a massive good luck from me. X

The commitment and dedication shown to everyone can be plainly seen from the enjoyment and progression the girls make as they make their way from Rainbows, Brownies, Girl Guides and Young Leaders. I think St Catherine’s Hospice deserve a shout. People think it is funded by the NHS but it has to raise over £3million a year to keep giving people specialist care at the end of their lives.

    Please vote St Catherine’s Hospice!!

St Catherine’s Hospice is a centre of excellence for palliative care in Central Lancashire, treating over 1,300 patients per year from the Preston, South Ribble and Chorley area. In addition to inpatient care our charity also provides Day Therapy Services and helps to support people within their own home through our Community Nurses.

All charities do amazing work and everyone will have their favourites or ones they’ve had personal experience of. Please spare a vote for girl guiding, everyone’s heard of them, lots of people have been involved or know someone who has but few would recognise it as a charity – they’re the ones that could do with a bit of a boost x

I am voting Integrate Charity, the way they work with their service users is just fantastic, they are always looking for opportunities to build the charity with projects such as 2 open charity shops (Penwortham and Lane Ends), a charity plant outlet (Plants+), a garden centre (Sow ‘n’ Grow), a wood recycling project (The WoodHouse) and a sealing packaging project (Pak-it). I recommend this charity because their determination and dedication deserves recognition. To find out more about their work go to http://www.integratepreston.org.uk 🙂
