Great product. Easy to use and fit. I would recommend this item.

Seems to be OK most of the time but if it is opened - from either side - too enthusiastically, it often sticks with the bolt withdrawn. this can be a bit of a fiddle to un-stick with pliers and a screw driver. None the less, if one is gentle with it it works fine. It is usually "untrained" visitors who cause the problem. The lock is well made but wasw supplied with bolts which were not quite long enough for the 2 and a half inch door where I fitted it. Slightly longer bolts would be a boon as standard.

First impression was good, however the long screws need to be corrosion proof. I had to disassemble the lock after a few days of operation (the keys would not engage)to find them already rusting. Changing the code seemed straightforward from the instructions but the little pegs did not want to come out without a fight. After a few days on the gate, the number keys failed to engage. The temperature was cold but not freezing and this rendered the whole thing u/s - I was locked out of my own house! This happened again even after a good internal spray of oil.

This product the CL255 was purchased to fit on an outside door. The quality of the product is very well finished and looks expensive. When it came to fitting with the template guide pinned to the door for a pecise point to drill the holes it was important that the drill bits are sharp so they cut through the template and not rip it. To ensure you drill the holes straight it best having the door off and a work horse. The instruction were easy to understand and follow. So far I'm really pleased with the lock looks solid and secure. Only time will tell on how well it last and how good it really is (how well does it weather?) some important questions which I can't yet answer.

The Codelocks CL255 was purchased "online" as a replacement unit for one of a different manufacturer. It was delivered promptly on the day advised to a UK address and was exactly as described on the SAFE website. The package was complete with full instructions which were simple to understand and the lock was subsequently fitted without any problems on an external weather protected door to an apartment in Ibiza.
The lock looks a proffessional piece of door furniture likely to deter speculative intruders and since installation has operated without fault. The combination has not been changed from the manufacturers settings but this could be easily facilitated if necessary. I would be very happy to reccommend this product.

The instructions and template were fine but little bits of debris from making the holes got in the way and it had to be taken apart and re-assembled.
The outer handle is rather difficult to grasp when you have arthritic hands - it would be better if it was the same shape as the internal one.

I bought the stainless steel version as it will be used outside in all weathers. So far I have not noticed any problems relating to corrosion. Exactly the same as the cheaper versions in fitting and operation. I like the latch to hold the lock open. Time will tell, but after 4 weeks in the rain it is still shiny and works perfectly. Fitting can be fiddly, with one hand holding it together and the other with a screw driver. Have help, and or put something on the ground to catch a flying spring. Fortunately I found the spring several feet away.

The seal around the product fits poorly resulting in water ingress. The product stopped working due to rust build up within a month of use. The product was professionally fitted. The external seal lets the product down
