Are 4K security systems better?
4K CCTV systems are one of the best on the market if performance and resolution are your focus. They have a resolution of 3840 x 2160, meaning they have quadruple the number of pixels than 1080p and 720p. They provide sharper images, even when focusing on long distance objects and are brilliant for outdoor surveillance. Technically, 8K CCTV systems have the highest resolution, but can become quite pricey.
How far can a 4k security camera see?
The higher resolution and focal length, the further a camera can see. Therefore, a 4k CCTV camera with a focal length of 12mm can focus up to 100 feet, making it a great option for outdoor surveillance and super high quality indoor surveillance.
What is the difference between 4K and HD CCTV cameras?
The main difference between 4K CCTV systems and HD cameras is the pixelation. HD will not produce as detailed footage as 4K, but it is still considered high definition. As a result, 4K will be a better option should you want to capture footage in the dark or outdoors, whereas HD can still be effective for well-lit, smaller areas. But HD cameras can store more footage than 4K cameras as the footage requires smaller files with it being lower quality. So it is much more efficient in this aspect.
Do you need 4K TV for 4K security cameras?
In order to get the most out of your 4K CCTV system, it is suggested to pair it to a 4K TV or monitor. Using a lower resolution TV or monitor will result in some compatibility issues and the footage will be of a lesser quality. This can counteract the advantages of choosing a higher resolution camera system and images will not be as clear.
