The battery is housed in the keypad itself and can be changed from the outside.

The hinges are just to support the door when being opened and are not an integral part of the safe security. The safe has a built in full length dogging bar which locks in behind the right hand side of the safe and the safe door also has 3 way bolt work.
To confirm you cannot break into the safe by cutting the safes hinges.
