Could you be more specific, please, about what information is displayed on the LED vs LCD control panels? (I'm surprised by the price difference between the Vault Pro and the Invincible Pro.
SLG, Oxford
The Invincible would give you full information and status displays via the LCD screen. However the invincible can also contact you through landline and sim which would justify the price difference.
It says that the system is battery powered with rechargeable batteries. Do you get some form of notification of when the batteries are running low and need charging again, and how long do the batteries typically last for before needing a charge?
Alex, Cheltenham
The rechargeable battery is located inside the Hub and needs mains power, the rechargeable battery will only come into effect when there is a power cut and would give you around 6 hours of emergency power.
The system says it requires a sim to be placed inside. Does this mean you need to purchase a sim with credit on it, and will it charge the sim like a normal phone for anything such as calls and texts?
Alex, Gloucester
You will need either a pay as you go or pay monthly Sim card. Any network is suitable apart from (Three). When data is used the Sim card would be charged.
For the era vault wireless smart phone alarm pro, what sim services are required? if it needs internet then how much data usage it will have in a month?
Parjeshwar, Coventry
The system requires a standard Pay As You Go sim card only. The notifications will be sent via text message and you can set what notifications you wish to receive allowing you to keep a track on credit used.
On ERA website it’s mentioned that the led lights flash 24/7 as a deterrent but one of your experts answered differently for the same question previously.
Naresh, Newry
The active LED deterrent light would flash every 10 seconds 24/7.
I would like to install the alarm in a remote building at the bottom of my garden (I have mains electricity in the building), but mount the alarm sounder at my house. What is the maximum range between them possible?
D Langan, Chester
The Maximum range is 80 metres (open field conditions). You may prefer to look at the Yale Intruder Alarms which have a 200m wireless range.
Does this alarm system connect to broadband to use the smartphone features?
Jonathan Gray, Carrickfergus
This alarm system uses GSM technology in order to use the smartphone features. The alam hub requires a sim card and does not connect to your home broadband.
You can have up to 50 sensors connected to this alarm. Does this mean you can also have up to 50 zones?
Tom Beckwith, Leeds
You can have 2 zones set, for example upstairs and downstairs. All sensors within a zone must be either active or inactive, specific sensors within a zone cannot be isolated.
I live on a boat and am looking at the ERA Vault for a practical alarm system. Obviously power is not a constant luxury on the canals so would the rechargeable batteries be suitable for a day and then being charged in the evening?
ollie isaac, Battersea
The ERA Vault Alarm System includes a 3.7v rechargeable lithium battery which provides 12 hours emergency power supply.
