In this scenario an engineer or locksmith may be required to open the safe for you, which may leave the safe redundant and a replacement unit required. We always advise that the back-up keys be kept somewhere secure and not inside the safe itself, so that the unit can be accessed in the event of battery power failure.

This item is provided with a back-up key so that if the batteries die you can access the safe and insert new batteries. You should be able to operate the safe with same code that was being used prior to the batteries being changed.
