I have set the alarm and the word alarm comes up on the display. However nothing happens when the handle is tried. What am I doing wrong? What is the purpose of the circular disc with an arrow on it situated on the back of the door?

Thank you.
Lawrie, Epping
The alarm will be activated if the safe was to come under sustained or violent attack, movement on the handle alone will not activate the alarm. The disc on the back of the door is to indicate the programme button, should you wish to change or re-set a code this is the button you will use.

When the drawer is used, is there enough room for A4 documents?
Alan
The drawer on this particular model is split into four compartments which means it is unable to hold A4 documents. However A4 documents will fit in the safe below the drawer by using either the shelf below or the bottom of the safe.

What happens when batteries run out, do you simply take off code module replace batteries and it still works on the old codes?
sheila, eastbourne
The batteries on this unit are changed on the outside. The Keypad unclips on one side and moves on a hinge to allow you to replace the batteries. You should not have to change or re-set the codes when changing the batteries you can continue to operate the safe on the codes previously set.

In the event of a fire what would happen if the safe only has an electronic lock, will this surely not melt the interface in the fire and therefore be unable to function, hence leaving my goods trapped inside the safe?
Anonymous
For this safe and in the case of most safes the heat from the fire would almost certainly melt the keypad rendering the lock inoperable. As Phoenix offer a life-time fire warranty on the Titan Safes we would arrange for an engineer to open the safe and recover any items inside the safe. The safe would also be replaced free of charge.

The safe looks wider than it is deep but the dimensions suggest otherwise. Is it possible to lie A4 documents flat across the bottom/shelf?
Karen, London
An A4 document 297mm x 210mm would lie flat in the bottom of the safe and on the shelf. Also note the internal measurements given are 100% "usable" space. So no issues fitting A4 documents inside.
