Does this have a master override physical key or a digital code?
Sujit, Cardiff
This unit is provided with a mastercode in case of lockout rather than a physical key.

I'm thinking of a wall fixing only, as I have a new wooden floor. But, my wall has a skirting board which means the back of the safe would not be snug to wall - there would be a 1.8cm-1.9cm gap. Is that a concern?
Edward Laxton, London
I would recommend removing part of the skirting board and having the safe bolted flush to the wall, as any gaps could compromise security.

Can the Securikey Mini Vault be supplied with the door hinged on the left hand side of the unit?
Jim Newton-Smith, Bristol
Unfortunately the option for left hand hinged is not available. All safes are all manufactured right hand hinged.

The battery operated key pads - what happens when the battery expires and you cannot open the safe?
Hamish, Durham
The batteries on this unit are stored in the keypad on the front of the safe and are changed from the outside. Should the batteries expire you can simply replace them and continue with the code you have already set as this is stored by the keypad memory. On safes where the batteries are not changed on the outside a master override key is provided to allow access to the unit.

Are the shelves removable? What size laptop would fit inside?
Jason Holland
The shelves in the Securikey Mini Vault FR 2E are height adjustable so you can remove them altogether if required. The door aperture is only 90 degrees making the angle smaller to fit a laptop in horizontally. However, a 14 inch laptop may fit in vertically. I would recommend having a look at our Laptop Safes if you own a larger laptop.

Yes if the unit is installed by our engineers this will be classed as a professional installation as it will be installed to the manufacturer specification.

When fixing to the wall, does the safe have to be lying on the floor or can it be suspended and not supported by the floor?
Raj, London
When fixing to a wall the safe will need to be resting on the floor or supported by a suitable plinth or shelf that can adequately distribute the weight of the safe. Without this the weight of the unit would be focused on the fixing bolts which may eventually come away from the wall.
