Is the shelf adjustable?

The shelf can be taken out of this safe if needed, but it is not height adjustable.

Hi - this might be an obvious question but is the battery required to operate the digital lock? So if the battery runs out does the digital lock itself not function? (or is it just the backlight that doesn't function)

This safe is battery operated and requires battery power to open and lock the door. You will receive a warning when power is running low and you are supplied with a back up key, for use in emergencies.

I need to have at leave 45mm (and hopefully 50mm) from the base of the safe to the bottom of the door. This is to allow the door to hinge open over a lip. Do you know the dimensions for this, with this safe?

This measurement is 35mm from the floor to the bottom of the door.
