A good professional looking safe which fits well in our home in Spain which is frequently occupied by people other than family.

Installation was straight forward and it serves its' purpose well as we secured it with bolts to a blockwork base and solid rear wall.

We have confidence that our laptops and passports are now adequately protected from the opportunist burglar.

Operation couldn't be easier and the two methods of emergency access when codes are forgotten is an excellent facility.

We've found no better unit of its kind even in 5 star top quality hotels.

Its only been in for four months, so we'll give it a but longer for a final review.

Prior to purchasing the SS0311E, I used to keep our valuables in a large safe with a combination lock. Its size and weight dictated that it was kept downstairs in our study. This was extremely inconvenient because my wife found unlocking it impossible. Thus she could only retrieve her valuables if I was at home to unlock the safe.

The Phoenix Dione SS0311E solved all our problems. We decided to put the safe in one of my wife's wardrobes.

It was easy to mount on an outside wall, and the shelf on which it sat. The digital display and the four digit code were easy to remember and operate. Lapses of memory are catered for by providing a key for manual operation.

The convenience for us both being able to access valuables whilst dressing cannot be overstated. This acquisition has, amongst other things, led to calmness in our household particularly if my wife is preparing a co-ordinated ensemble and her jewellery is in the safe! I am a very happy man.

Excellent choice of safes. Had a very specific size criteria and found this one that ticked all the boxes. More than I wanted to spend but worthwhile as there’s no point in having a safe at all if you’re going to have something easy to break in to.

Back up key in case the battery dies is a very good feature but just don’t put the key in the safe.And internal lights are a nice touch. Found the ordering process very easy.

Safe arrived when it was meant to and I was kept informed throughout.

This is a good solid product, pretty easy to install, and easy to use. I like the interior light, and the key over-ride to the electronics gives a feeling of safety and reliability.

Interface is very straightforward and intuitive. The last code you entered is displayed momentarily once you close the door - handy to check you did actually enter the code you wanted.

One drawback is access for a 17" laptop. The door is quite thick, and opens only to slightly less than 90 degrees. So although the interior space easily fits the laptop, putting it in and out is decidedly awkward: you have to tilt it slightly. And to get it onto the shelf requries a double twist. Doing this every day of course it becomes a habit. But inevitably the laptop gets knocked around and externally damaged.

Also if you have multiple laptops (I have 2, and sometimes 3 with a colleague's) it is not possible to stack them and put them in together. Each one needs to be carefully twisted into place. Would be great to either make a larger unit, or change the door design or opening.

I have been very impressed with the Phoenix Dione SS0311e safe which is easy to operate, sturdily made and, above all, large enough to take my laptop and ipad and lots of other valuable things. It is reassuring to know that when we leave the house our belongings are safely out of sight and secure.. Incidentally, I had an issue with the setting up of the safe but am glad to say that a telephone call to your office was dealt with politely and efficiently - well done! If I had one slight criticism it would be that the instructions that came with the safe could be a bit clearer, but apart from that, I would recommend this excellent safe to anyone.

Excellent safe, seems very substantial, bought this model because it was exactly the right size for the space available, and it can take a 17 inch laptop (might buy one some day). Nice illumination inside when the door is opened. Hope it never gets tested.

I would highly recommend. A very solid hotel safe but obviously much wider to slot in more than 3 large laptops at home or in an office with still loads more room to store other valuables. Setting the code number instructions were straight forward and easy to use for regular access. I like the fact if the battery dies or if the digital lock malfunctions, you can unlock a discreet keyhole and manually open it via a separate key for emergencies. I did it just once and it was painless. I like the unit, its large, secure and heavy. You can't just pick it up and walk away which is great so it needs to be positioned permanently in the same place. The safe has pre-drilled holes and comes with screws if you want to fix and drill against a brick wall or concrete floor for extra security. I did not want to do neither. I followed a video on YouTube and bolted it against a large 6mm thick sheet of steel with my drill. The safe is now incredibly heavy, awkward and an absolute bummer to move. None of this is required as the safe is secure enough on its own but as you can see from this post I'm extra!

I first saw this and used in a hotel in Stevenage and was instantly impressed with the size and ease of use, i liked the light when door opens and emergency way to open if batteries failed, well built and fits well into a wardrobe.

I have found this safe to be very easy to use. It is not too heavy to move around and fits in my 15" and 17" laptops with a little room to spare along with several USB drives and doesn't block the door.

The use of multiple locks such as a master combination and another combination that can change every time you need to use it and range up to 6 digits is helpful and allow temporary use if someone was to come and visit and need to use it. The backup key is a nice feature in case the battery fails, or combo stops working and nicely hidden behind a panel that needs an allan key to open.

Compact enough to hide away but big enough to do the job. Overall, it does the job it was got for so I'm happy with it.
