I've seen a review on another site that said the LED indicator only flashes when the associated alarm is armed (which would disclose the alarm state to potential intruders).

The Solar Sirens LED comfort light flashes regardless if the alarm is activated or deactivated.

I have this installed already and all works fine. I'm going to add a separate small alarm to the detached Garage (all compatible etc) will this connect to two separate compatible control panels at the same time?

The alarm components can only connect to one central hub at a time but it is possible to connect multiple ERA Wireless Touch RFID Keypad's.

can you have more than one siren connected to an existing home guard pro system?

Up to two sirens can be added to each Homeguard Hub.

When will I need to change the batteries in the siren if I consider North exposure with poor sunlight?

The batteries have life span of 7-10 years as they are charged by the solar panel. Positioning the siren north facing should be okay as the alarm is powered from any UV day light not just direct sunlight.
