Will the system work without a Sim Card?

Without a SIM card installed, this alarm system would still function but it would not be possible to send notifications to your smartphone.

This alarm will accept any standard sized SIM card from most networks (excludes Three Network).

It says that the system is battery powered with rechargeable batteries. Do you get some form of notification of when the batteries are running low and need charging again, and how long do the batteries typically last for before needing a charge?

The rechargeable battery is located inside the Hub and needs mains power, the rechargeable battery will only come into effect when there is a power cut and would give you around 6 hours of emergency power.

I have a gun safe and would like to alarm the safe door. Can I do that with this alarm?

With this alarm system you have the facility to part arm the system meaning you can activate single components if needed. You could add a door sensor to the gun safe and be alerted via text when each time the door is opened.

Does this alarm have an audible countdown when you enter the property to remind you to disarm the alarm before the alarm sounds?

The system says it requires a sim to be placed inside. Does this mean you need to purchase a sim with credit on it, and will it charge the sim like a normal phone for anything such as calls and texts?

You will need either a pay as you go or pay monthly Sim card. Any network is suitable apart from (Three). When data is used the Sim card would be charged.

I would like to install the alarm in a remote building at the bottom of my garden (I have mains electricity in the building), but mount the alarm sounder at my house. What is the maximum range between them possible?

The Maximum range is 80 metres (open field conditions). You may prefer to look at the Yale Intruder Alarms which have a 200m wireless range.

How is the system powered? Does each component require plugging into mains socket or do they use batteries?

The alarm hub is mains powered but all other components are wireless and battery powered.

Does this alarm system connect to broadband to use the smartphone features?

This alarm system uses GSM technology in order to use the smartphone features. The alam hub requires a sim card and does not connect to your home broadband.

Does this operate on 2G? If so will SMS function still work when 2G is turned off? Are any of your alarms 4G?

The ERA Wireless alarms operate via a 2G SIM card in order to control the system via the Smartphone app. All major networks support this, excluding Three network. Without 2G enabled, the system can still send notifications via text message to your phone.

No, it would need to be the same product for the previous accessories to work with this system.

Can this alarm be armed/disarmed using an IPhone?
If the Wifi was to go faulty would the alarm continue to work?

Yes the alarm can be controlled with a smartphone providing this is iOS or Android. In the event of Wifi failure the alarm would still function as an alarm but you would not be able to access via the app until connection is restored,

This alarm has a GSM dialler so if I install a suitable SIM card in it, is a landline connection still required for the alarm to telecommunicate?

This system does not require a landline connection to operate. The text and phone call alerts are provided by a SIM card. The ERA Invincible - Wireless SmartPhone Alarm is an alternative system should you wish to include a landline connection.
