Unfortunately the PIR camera is not pet friendly and will detect any movement. You can purchase the Yale Easy Fit Pet PIR Motion Detector's which are designed for homes with small pets.

If the WiFi goes down the camera will still continue to operate as this component works off a secure 868MHz radio frequency. The camera will start to operate as soon as motion is detected even with the delay feature set on the system.
