Burton Eurovault Aver S2 2E Reviews

This is the second purchase we have made from safe.co.uk and once again we were not disappointed. We needed a keyless safe which offered good storage but had to fit into a confined space. Looking at the various options, we decided to go with this one.

The safe arrived very quickly and appeared to be robust and fit for purpose. It is heavy, but not so much as to make it unmanageable. I would recommend that you read the instructions carefully before using the safe, they are quite easy to follow but it’s easy to get lost. It is worth noting that there is no physical override key, which may be a blessing or a curse (time will tell), but you can set a second code if required to overcome someone changing the code and forgetting it. The lock is battery powered (supplied), and it has a backup feature where you can use an external battery to power the lock should the main battery fail.

Overall this is a great little safe. It offers lots of storage space anyway, but the optional shelf is a good addition as it enables us to make full use of it. So far it has been faultless; the only bug bear is the time delay after a wrong code is used, although that isn’t really attributable to the safe. Fully recommend this product.

I bought this safe because it is AiS Approved (Association of Insurance Surveyors) – while my insurance company had not requested this certification after some googling it appeared to be important. Also the safe is great value – and by buying from a British safe company should increase the chances of having support if there were any issues in the future. I’ve screwed it to a concrete floor and a brick wall behind – drilling the concrete took a long time. Once installed it is easy to set up and use. It is large enough to hold important paperwork, hard drives and jewellery, but not so large that I could not carry it myself or take up much space.

First of all I'm not an expert in security so I would prefer not to have added a rating for security. An S2 rating should meet a fixed requirement so I have no reason not to trust the rating.

The build quality seems good, everything fits together well and seems sturdy. I like that there is no over-ride physical 'master' key as it always seems to me that adding extra ways of getting in can't be good for security. If the battery goes there are a couple of terminals that a 9V battery can be pressed against in order to activate the electronics and access the safe. I have not tested this yet.

It bolts to the floor (2 bolts) and the back wall (1 bolt). Fixings were included. I did a DIY install and the fixings are easy to use and very long. Drilling the holes into the masonry was harder but my drill isn't great. I imagine an SDS drill would make short work of it.

I think for the features, the security level and the quality the price was good. Storage capacity was as expected.

The Burton Eurovault safe is perfect for us. We had cash boxes stolen during one of the busiest times of the year for us, but luckily the thieves were caught and we got our money back. After this happened, we decided to purchase a safe to stop anything like this happening again. We really like the safe and use it to store receipts, cash and a macbook. It looks small inside but the dimensions work well and hold a lot more than they seem. We also managed to change the code to a new one very easily. It fits neatly under a desk in the office. It's about the size of a microwave but a lot deeper!

Great safe, the internal light is a must it’s so easy to install, mine is secured to the floor and wall by competent contractor.

It looks to be a well made robust safe. The only downside is fixing it securely by fastening to a wall or floor will not be easy or possible in some situations, at least with the bolts provided. It could still be attached inside a cupboard or to a partition wall with other screws etc. That apart it is a good product.

We bought the safe after being burgled (so often the case). I had a lengthy conversation with an adviser who enlightened me on the merits of each safe. Having bought the Aver S2 2E I chose to fit it myself and found it reasonably straightforward although I did buy alternative bolts to the ones provided as these were different to the ones used in the installation video. Again the back up team were very helpful in advising on this. The safe itself now fits neatly in a wardrobe space. It is really easy to use and gives us peace of mind knowing that our belongings are safe. Just to have things like spare car keys, passports and driving licences etc locked safely away (as well as jewellery or cash), means that should a burglary occur, ones losses and disruption will be minimal. Well worth the purchase price. Thank you.

the safe was i thought was big enough but, my partner sarah though it was so good now i need a bigger one as she filled it,

the only thing i found a problem with it could done with some felt to put on the floor and shelf of the safe, which i did, otherwise great. i would defiantly get another one

The Burton Eurovault Aver S2 2EL: It fitted the bill we paid: it fitted cosily into the space we built for it (bottom shelf of a new alcove cupboard); and it fitted the purpose for which it was purchased. Whether it will be large enough depends upon the direction we take now we are in ,our newly-adopted "secure documents storage mode" since we bought the Aver S2 EL, our first security safe. Meanwhile we are very pleased with our purchase, which is easy to use, and the added feature of being able to open it even when the battery runs will most probably be put to crucial use some day.

This is really well made, sturdy, easy to use home safe which is perfect for documents and jewellery etc. The shelf is easily removable for versatility. The inner volume is considerably less than the outer dimensions so this size is fine but I wouldn't go any smaller. Only slight improvement would be a soft carpet or felt lining which I did myself but this is not a big deal. The professional fitting service was first rate and we are very pleased with both the quality of the safe and the way it was very securely installed. Would highly recommend without hesitation.

Delivery was quicker than I could get from any other supplier and the price was also competitive. My query was dealth with quickly and efficiently and their invoice was clear.

The safe is well built and easy to use with its digital keypad. I would recommend this safe to anyone looking to buy a compact safe that has little storage room. I would recommend it being fixed to the floor though as it's not particularly heavy.I believe it is also police approved so would be if storing high value items, I guess it is a good option.

This safe is very easy to operate and install. It can be carried by one person reasonably comfortably so there is no problem getting it from the doorstep delivery to the site.

It would have benefited from having felt covering on the shelves but a quick trip to Hobbycraft solved that. Delivery was fast and on time. I would recommend this as a great home safe and it fits a largish laptop in too.

My last safe had the batteries die and left me with the only option of cutting the back off. A 5 min job ha. Not happening with this product.

Ideal for the home Jewellery and Deluxe Watches, so easy to access but with a six number harder for anyone else to access.

Not stupidly heavy so easy to install, just make sure you fix to a Brick wall or beam and no one is taking it !

This was my second safe from your company.they are both different makes,but still Burton safes.I purchased the Aver S2 2E as i wanted to store files,the inside measurent is a perfect size to do this.I am very pleased with my purchase also the staff who served me.The safe is easy to operate.

I was apprehensive when I purchased this and thought for the price I paid the quality would not be that great. But how wrong was I a great safe, well made and very secure

After buying some expensive watches as part of the insurance criteria I had to purchase a suitable safe to ensure I was compliant in terms of my insurance policy. I scoured the market and looked at many safes for my needs and after comparing the dimensions, customer reviews and price I was pleased to select the eurovalt safe. It arrived as per the due delivery date and subsequently fitted in line with the instructions. It's a good safe, sturdy, easy to use and has enough capacity for our (domestic) requirements. Installation was easy, two large bolts are provided for securing it to floor and wall, and setting it up was straight forward. There's a number of options for how to set up codes for the safe, a useful feature. Delivery was very prompt, and it came well packaged.

This was an easy to install, easy to program safe. I liked the fact that it could be fixed at the base to the floor and at the back to a brick wall. The end result was a really secure fit. I also thought the safe was very good value for money for its £4000 insurance cash rating. It looks sturdy and I am confident it will stand the test of time, however there is a decent warranty period if things do go wrong. I would defiantly recommend this safe, either with keypad or key lock. It comes in different sizes and with shelves and the £4000 cash / £40000 valuables rating really is perfect for most domestic households. I reckon, if looked after, there is no reason this safe would not last a lifetime. I would highly recommend it.

The Burton Eurovault Aver S2 2E is very good value vs the competition. The keypad is easy to the use. The handle which you rotate to open the door…is plastic and not very robust, probably this is a security feature as it’ll break if someone uses too much force.
