This is the second purchase we have made from safe.co.uk and once again we were not disappointed. We needed a keyless safe which offered good storage but had to fit into a confined space. Looking at the various options, we decided to go with this one.

The safe arrived very quickly and appeared to be robust and fit for purpose. It is heavy, but not so much as to make it unmanageable. I would recommend that you read the instructions carefully before using the safe, they are quite easy to follow...

First of all I'm not an expert in security so I would prefer not to have added a rating for security. An S2 rating should meet a fixed requirement so I have no reason not to trust the rating.

The build quality seems good, everything fits together well and seems sturdy. I like that there is no over-ride physical 'master' key as it always seems to me that adding extra ways of getting in can't be good for security. If the battery goes there are a couple of terminals that a 9V battery can ...

The Burton Eurovault safe is perfect for us. We had cash boxes stolen during one of the busiest times of the year for us, but luckily the thieves were caught and we got our money back. After this happened, we decided to purchase a safe to stop anything like this happening again. We really like the safe and use it to store receipts, cash and a macbook. It looks small inside but the dimensions work well and hold a lot more than they seem. We also managed to change the code to a new one very easily...

I bought this safe because it is AiS Approved (Association of Insurance Surveyors) – while my insurance company had not requested this certification after some googling it appeared to be important. Also the safe is great value – and by buying from a British safe company should increase the chances of having support if there were any issues in the future. I've screwed it to a concrete floor and a brick wall behind – drilling the concrete took a long time. Once installed it is easy to set...

The Burton Eurovault Aver S2 2EL: It fitted the bill we paid: it fitted cosily into the space we built for it (bottom shelf of a new alcove cupboard); and it fitted the purpose for which it was purchased. Whether it will be large enough depends upon the direction we take now we are in ,our newly-adopted "secure documents storage mode" since we bought the Aver S2 EL, our first security safe. Meanwhile we are very pleased with our purchase, which is easy to use, and the added feature of being ...

Standard Safe <25kg Installation

We offer professional installation on our complete range of lightweight safes under 25kgs.

Our experienced engineer will complete a brief site inspection and then discuss their findings with you to agree positioning of your safe.

Your installation will include bolting the safe to the floor or wall using the anchor bolts included with your safe. Anchor bolts are designed for use with a solid surface such as brick or concrete. We cannot install your safe to floorboards or a stud plasterboard wall.

If you are choosing a wall installation you must ensure the skirting board has been removed prior to installation.

The position of your safe will be governed by safe site access, and other obstructions such as submerged pipes/cables or under floor heating.

The engineer will carry out a final assessment to ensure the safe is secure before providing a brief demonstration of your safe and confirming the installation has been completed to your satisfaction.

Non-standard Installation

In some cases, it may be necessary to install additional materials or provide extra resources (manpower) to facilitate an installation in a safe manner.

If additional costs are likely these will be discussed with you prior to installation. Reasons for extra costs might include:

  • Specialised access equipment and permits such as hoists, lifts and cranes.
  • Outside of normal hours working (Mon-Fri, 9am to 5pm).
  • 4x4 Vehicular access requirements to remote rural sites.
  • Road closure including necessary permits.
  • Additional manpower to overcome technical, lifting or safety access issues.

We offer installation throughout the UK mainland, however some more remote and rural post codes in the Highlands are subject to a surcharge to cover additional fuel and traveling time costs.

The following areas will incur a rural travel surcharge:

£55.00 Surcharge Areas

  • PH 1 - 26 (No coverage in other PH postcodes)
  • PA 1 - 19 (No coverage in other PA postcodes)
  • KA 19, 26
  • ML 11, 12

£105.00 Surcharge Areas

  • IV 01-17, 30,31,32 (No coverage in other IV postcodes)
  • AB
  • DD
  • TD
  • DG
  • KW

These additional elements are deemed to fall outside the definition of a 'Standard Installation'. If you feel your installation might be non-standard please contact us to discuss your individual requirements.

If applicable, additional costs are to be paid before installation begins.

Warranty Terms & Conditions

Our installer provides a standard 12 month warranty on all new installations and a 3 month warranty on all materials provided during maintenance visits.

Note: Existing system components and pre-supplied equipment are not included in the installation warranty as these elements are covered by the Manufacturer warranty.

We reserve the right to undertake an ‘Assessment Call’ without prejudice to investigate any complaints relating to materials failure or poor workmanship to assess if the complaint is valid. Please note that remedial service calls generated by elements outside of our sphere of influence or due to different fault conditions will be chargeable to you at an agreed call out charge.

In scenarios where you request a post installation service call and our assessment identifies the fault condition or cause of the fault falls outside of the limitations of the standard installation warranty (Force Majeure, different fault etc) a call out charge will be incurred for the visit.

Assessment calls raised for reasons outside our sphere of influence or responsibility and not covered by the standard installation will incur a call out charge for labour and additional materials.

The following are examples of when a call out charge would be incurred:

  • Accidental Damage
  • Malicious Damage
  • Materials or Manufacturer Failure
  • System Modification
  • Incorrect User Diagnosis
  • Broadband Related
  • App Related
  • User Error

Questions & Answers (5)

Is there a master key to use if the battery runs flat?
Miah
If the batteries run flat on this safe you can use the external battery pack which comes with this model. The pack connects to two external contacts on the keypad allowing you to enter the code and gain entry to the safe. Once the safe is open you can then replace the internal batteries.

What happens if I forget the access code or if the electronics fail? Is there any system for emergency access?
Jim, Durham
This safe includes external battery contacts providing power to the safe lock in case of power failure. There is no override for if you forget the code.

How would you recommend fixing to a timber floor (chipboard on timber joists). Walls are plasterboard on timber stud, so not easy to make secure either.
Tony Douglas, MIDHURST
Ideally the safe would be best installed to a sold brick wall or concrete floor. However, if this method is not available to you, fixing the safe into timber joists using heavy duty wood screws is certainly better than no fixing at all. Before doing this I would advise checking with your insurer as they may not provide cover if installed to wood.

Please can you advise what size drill is required for floor fitting ? also how deep I need to drill down?
Anonymous
For this safe you would require a 12mm diameter drill bit and you would need to drill to a depth of between 120mm to 150mm.
