The Yale Maximum Security Laptop Safe is designed to protect laptop computers and other valuables from theft and has a recommended insurance rating of £2,000 cash or £20,000 valuables with a Silver award in the Sold Secure Accreditation** scheme. This home safe is secured by an electronic combination lock including a blue LCD which is powered by 4 x AA batteries (included). For additional peace of mind it is possible to override the electronic lock by a 6 lever high security double bitted key lock (supplied with one key).

When the safe door is opened extra bright internal LED lighting reveals a fully felt lined interior. This safe is also ready prepared for floor or wall fixing via pre-drilled holes in both the back and base of the safe. Fixing bolts are included.

** Sold Secure Accreditation is a certification scheme, based on attack testing, set up by the Police with the help of the Home Office. It is administered by the Master Locksmiths Association, which works closely with Police and insurance companies.

Big PROBLEM - Basically the safe is what we want - good size, locks and unlocks, the bolts look OK but we haven't used them yet.

The MAJOR PROBLEM IS THERE IS ONLY ONE KEY. Who wants a vital safe with only one key? I have tried looking online and found a company that does Yale keys. BUT THEY DONT DO KEYS FOR THIS SAFE. I went to several key cutter shops - they cannot supply one as they don't have blanks. Yale doesn't have a customer care for clients. So if you want 2 keys DONT BUY THIS SAFE.

I chose this safe not for storing a laptop but for personal papers like wills and certificates etc. It would though accomodate my laptop easily if required. Although not fire rated it is a robust safe with a digital lock and a failsafe key backup. It is good value for money and ideal for my requirements.

A great safe. Very easy to install with points to secure the safe at the back and at the bottom. Nothing is moving that thing.

Plenty of space inside for laptops and more, a great light that comes on when you open the safe, a really nice keypad too.

If your are after a decent safe, I would recommend.

Generally a good, solid safe that is easy to use. Keypad could have been a little better quality, but overall easy to use.

4 sleeve anchors were supplied to fix to a wall/floor, however these were cheap quality and 2 broke requiring 2 better quality to be purchased.

Hi - this might be an obvious question but is the battery required to operate the digital lock? So if the battery runs out does the digital lock itself not function? (or is it just the backlight that doesn't function)

This safe is battery operated and requires battery power to open and lock the door. You will receive a warning when power is running low and you are supplied with a back up key, for use in emergencies.

Does this safe have any fireproof rating, either certified or otherwise? If not, do Yale do a laptop safe (with keypad and override physical key) that is fireproof?

Standard Safe <25kg Installation

We offer professional installation on our complete range of lightweight safes under 25kgs.

Our experienced engineer will complete a brief site inspection and then discuss their findings with you to agree positioning of your safe.

Your installation will include bolting the safe to the floor or wall using the anchor bolts included with your safe. Anchor bolts are designed for use with a solid surface such as brick or concrete. We cannot install your safe to floorboards or a stud plasterboard wall.

If you are choosing a wall installation you must ensure the skirting board has been removed prior to installation.

The position of your safe will be governed by safe site access, and other obstructions such as submerged pipes/cables or under floor heating.

The engineer will carry out a final assessment to ensure the safe is secure before providing a brief demonstration of your safe and confirming the installation has been completed to your satisfaction.

Additional Information

Non-standard Installation

In some cases, it may be necessary to install additional materials or provide extra resources (manpower) to facilitate an installation in a safe manner.

If additional costs are likely these will be discussed with you prior to installation. Reasons for extra costs might include:

  • Specialised access equipment and permits such as hoists, lifts and cranes.
  • Outside of normal hours working (Mon-Fri, 9am to 5pm).
  • 4x4 Vehicular access requirements to remote rural sites.
  • Road closure including necessary permits.
  • Additional manpower to overcome technical, lifting or safety access issues.

We offer installation throughout the UK mainland, however some more remote and rural post codes in the Highlands are subject to a surcharge to cover additional fuel and traveling time costs.

The following areas will incur a rural travel surcharge:

These additional elements are deemed to fall outside the definition of a 'Standard Installation'. If you feel your installation might be non-standard please contact us to discuss your individual requirements.

If applicable, additional costs are to be paid before installation begins.

Warranty Terms & Conditions

Our installer provides a standard 12 month warranty on all new installations and a 3 month warranty on all materials provided during maintenance visits.

Note: Existing system components and pre-supplied equipment are not included in the installation warranty as these elements are covered by the Manufacturer warranty.

We reserve the right to undertake an ‘Assessment Call’ without prejudice to investigate any complaints relating to materials failure or poor workmanship to assess if the complaint is valid. Please note that remedial service calls generated by elements outside of our sphere of influence or due to different fault conditions will be chargeable to you at an agreed call out charge.

In scenarios where you request a post installation service call and our assessment identifies the fault condition or cause of the fault falls outside of the limitations of the standard installation warranty (Force Majeure, different fault etc) a call out charge will be incurred for the visit.

Assessment calls raised for reasons outside our sphere of influence or responsibility and not covered by the standard installation will incur a call out charge for labour and additional materials.
