The installation leaflet was not particularly helpful as it just showed a few tiny drawings. and the installation was not that easy. You need a good quality drill to obtain the depth required for the rawlplugs and bolts. Also the bolts were an unusual design with a screw head inside the hexagonal bolt head. This meant that while you could start with a few turns of a screwdriver you had to finish with a ring spanner. The enclosed space made this quite time consuming. A socket head would be an easier option. Once installed the batteries were easy to fit and the digit code easy to enter. The two manual keys were an alternative option. Overall a very good, value for money, home safe.

This safe might not be suitable for somebody wanting to keep the Crown Jewels but, for me, I'm very happy with the quality and security given the outlay. It's reasonably compact so it's quite easy to store it somewhere in your home discretely. Build quality is good and the safe is weighty and feels strong, which is what you'd expect from the Yale brand. Perhaps one short coming is that the safe only has a 3 digit code, so less than you might be looking for.

I'm very happy with the safe and would recommend as the price was very good from Safe With Us.

It meets basic security requirements of having solid construction, easy-to-use keypad operation and positive locking. Mine's mounted in a dark place, which makes the keypad a bit hard to see, but the beeps that accompany pressing the keypad are reassuring.

The lock mechanism intrudes a little into the inside space. It's only just big enough for A4-size documents, but will take a lot.

Value for money budget safe has excellent storage capacity and looks the part. The walls of the safe are a little flimsy or tinny but overall the product description matches the product I received. The digital lock control key pad panel is simple and easy to use and the back up safe key system is good for peace of mind if the batteries fail on the digital panel. The safe itself is incredibly easy to install and setting key pad access codes up are also very easy. All in all a good safe for the money if perhaps not the most secure safe you will ever see in terms of heavy duty build quality.

The fact that it has 2 keys. The last safe only had 1 key which got lost and potentially meant if the batteries went it would not open. You need to put in slightly longer wall plugs.

Don't get me wrong, the team at safe.co.uk were very helpful. I had to have the safe replaced twice as the key became faulty. Now, my safe only opens with the key as keyboard was faulty after less then a week of use.

This is an entry level home safe which will deter any thieves if installed correctly. I would not use it for high value items but for passports, wallets, small amounts of cash its fine.

Not big enough for an iPad (iPad Mini is OK)

Do not buy this safe. Went for a recognised brand because I thought it would be well made. However... the batteries were not strong enough to open the door and after a call to safe.co.uk I was advised to replace them. Next batteries worked until I shut the door one day. On opening with the keys I found that the battery tray had popped open rendering the keypad inoperable. This has happened constantly and therefore means the safe cannot be used with the keypad.

Installing and setting the code was very straight forward. The structure of the safe was very strong. You can buy different sizes but the one I purchased has more than sufficient capacity. Security is very strong but simple to get open and closed. Competitively priced compared with their competitors. I would recommend Safe to anybody who wants to buy a safe.

Very pleased with this safe. Easy to use once reset button found. Lightweight enough to wall mount but plenty of room for jewellery etc. Small enough though to be hidden from view. Purchased to comply with insurance terms but wish I’d had one before, saves all those hiding places when you are away from home.

Great product compact enough to be out of the way.

Keeps the items secure.

The only issue I had was setting up the code. The instructions that came with the safe was confusing. I had to use the internet to find the right instructions to set up the code.

Excellent support from the seller. On arrival well packed. Quick delivery. Easy to install with kit supplied and instructions. Only downside was the batteries supplied were useless and I replaced them with Duracell ones. Since then it works perfectly. Looks the part of being secure. All in all much appreciated. Recommended. Would buy again if ever needed.

Good solid product. Easy to fix to a wall to make secure. Large size takes a 10'' cash box along with key in lock and tablet pad.

Straight forward to add combination number and to change if required.

Locks on closing door but supplied with an override key if number forgotten.

I have purchased a Yale safe and the battery is low on the pin so it mean the safe is not opening. I cannot find the key. How do I go about getting a new key? Is there a way I can give you the number of the type of safe it is?
Ashanti , London
Additional keys can be purchased from the Yale store.

How do we change the code on our safe please?
p white, Brentwood
With the door open and unlocked press the red programme button located on the edge of the battery compartment (Audible Beep). Now enter your desired code onto the keypad followed by the ENTER button to confirm (Melody Confirmation). The code entered should now be usable as your personal access code. For a copy of the instructions there is also a User Guide available for you to download from the website. For further assistance please contact our sales office on the number at the top of this page.

How long could a set of batteries be expected to last? Is there any warning of low battery?
Emma
Good quality AA batteries should last between 12 and 18 months. When the batteries are running low a red light will appear on the keypad when entering your code.

Does the safe come with any factory default pin?

This Safe does not come with a factory default pin. In order to gain access to the safe without a pin code you would need the to use the back up key provided.

I am wanting to purchase a safe for my home and was wondering if it had to be bolted to the wall or floor before it worked? In other words can I just leave it in situ without bolting it down.
Anonymous
We will always recommend that a safe is bolted to a floor or wall where possible as this increases security. The safe will function exactly the same if left free standing and can be used as such, but the potential for it to be removed is obviously increased. It may also affect your insurance cover if not bolted to a solid surface.

On the Yale Value Safe, where is the key hole for the back-up lock out key? And is it in the same place on the smaller laptop version? I want to be sure that, where I have in mind to fit it, the hole will still be reachable if needed. Many thanks.
Anonymous
The key hole is hidden behind the yellow Yale logo on the front of the door. The logo slides upwards to reveal the key hole and this applies to all sizes in the Yale Value Series.

If you take a look at the close up images above you will see one showing the logo has moved and the back-up key has been inserted.

Can this safe be fitted to the floor of a freestanding wardrobe?
Mrs Newbury
Ideally you should not attach the safe to anything that is freestanding, it is recommended to base or wall fix it to concrete or brick. If you have no option other than the cupboard it is certainly better then nothing.

Standard Safe <25kg Installation

We offer professional installation on our complete range of lightweight safes under 25kgs.

Our experienced engineer will complete a brief site inspection and then discuss their findings with you to agree positioning of your safe.

Your installation will include bolting the safe to the floor or wall using the anchor bolts included with your safe. Anchor bolts are designed for use with a solid surface such as brick or concrete. We cannot install your safe to floorboards or a stud plasterboard wall.

If you are choosing a wall installation you must ensure the skirting board has been removed prior to installation.

The position of your safe will be governed by safe site access, and other obstructions such as submerged pipes/cables or under floor heating.

The engineer will carry out a final assessment to ensure the safe is secure before providing a brief demonstration of your safe and confirming the installation has been completed to your satisfaction.

Non-standard Installation

In some cases, it may be necessary to install additional materials or provide extra resources (manpower) to facilitate an installation in a safe manner.

If additional costs are likely these will be discussed with you prior to installation. Reasons for extra costs might include:

  • Outside of normal hours working (Mon-Fri, 9am to 5pm).
  • 4x4 Vehicular access requirements to remote rural sites.
  • Road closure including necessary permits.

These additional elements are deemed to fall outside the definition of a 'Standard Installation'. If you feel your installation might be non-standard please contact us to discuss your individual requirements.

If applicable, additional costs are to be paid before installation begins.

Warranty Terms & Conditions

Our installer provides a standard 12 month warranty on all new installations and a 3 month warranty on all materials provided during maintenance visits.

Note: Existing system components and pre-supplied equipment are not included in the installation warranty as these elements are covered by the Manufacturer warranty.

We reserve the right to undertake an ‘Assessment Call’ without prejudice to investigate any complaints relating to materials failure or poor workmanship to assess if the complaint is valid. Please note that remedial service calls generated by elements outside of our sphere of influence or due to different fault conditions will be chargeable to you at an agreed call out charge.
